Reports on phone number 01613941826
3 yearsI received a call from someone purporting to be from "Curry's PC World", claiming they had various mobile phone offers at discounted rates. However, the whole exchange felt rather dodgy, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was a scam. The chap on the line lacked credibility and just didn’t sound reliable in the slightest.Curry ' sPC World3 yearsI've just had an absolute barrage of calls, five in total, all from two numbers that are strikingly similar. One of them was +44 161 394 1689. They kept ringing, then would abruptly stop, only to start up again almost immediately! Two calls came from the number ending in 1826, alongside a single call from the one finishing in 1689, and it was all over and done with in the blink of an eye-less than a minute, if that! I decided it was best not to answer any of them, so I’ve now gone ahead and blocked both numbers. Flipping annoying!3 yearsReverse tracing, eh? Have you perhaps executed a retroactive search utilizing a graphical interface in VBScript? Just curious! 😉3 yearsReverse phone lookup? Data records? You really are living in a make-believe world!3 yearsI've had a barrage of calls over the past few days, all purporting to be from O2. Each time, they came from various numbers that all started with 0161 394 and finished with 1377, 1689, 1711, and 1823. I've finally decided enough is enough and blocked them!3 yearsTOTAL CON JOB. This number claimed to be from O2, which was odd as I had actually chatted with O2 earlier that same day. However, I can assure you, this was not the genuine article!3 yearsI refuse to pick up the phone for numbers I'm not familiar with, so I quickly block them instead. It's a relief to have done that after seeing the endless barrage of complaints regarding these lowlifes. I'm bombarded with numerous emails each day, much like those pestering phone calls, yet it feels like the authorities-be it the ICO, Action Fraud, NCSC, Microsoft, Citizens Advice, or 7726-aren't doing a thing to address this issue. The average person is left vulnerable and facing constant harassment. In this modern age, surely it can't be that difficult to trace these culprits and hold them accountable! My emails appear to originate from the USA-so why can’t our regulatory bodies take it further with them? It's incredibly stressful and simply not right!ICOAction FraudNCSCMicrosoftCitizens AdviceUSA3 yearsReceived a call purporting to be from O2, claiming they could help me cut down on my bill. Sounds like a con to me. Best to steer clear!3 yearsAbsolutely appalling! This is nothing short of a scam. They claimed to have secured a compensation of £2,550 plus an additional £1,550 in interest from my nonexistent bank - the "Bank of Paris" - which is a complete fabrication. When I threw that name into the mix, they didn’t even bat an eyelash! They issued me a reference and ID number, insisting that they don’t ask for any bank or card details and that the money was waiting in a 'wallet'? Then they transferred me to another chap, who turned out to be of Asian descent. He asked for the ID and reference numbers I was given, but I flicked him the wrong ones on purpose! He seemed perplexed and then asked for my phone number to verify those numbers. In return, he provided me with yet another batch of ID and reference numbers, which thankfully were completely different from the first set. He then had the audacity to suggest I wasn't very tech-savvy and promised to assist me in accessing this so-called wallet. Next thing I know, he instructs me to put my phone on loudspeaker (which was quite puzzling) and to download an app called AnyDesk from the Play Store, enabling him to remotely access my phone. It was a clear attempt to pilfer my banking information, identity, passwords, and all manner of private details. These despicable individuals deserve to be brought to task. Initially, I was none the wiser, but as luck would have it, my phone is equipped with reverse tracking. Once I realised it was a con, I decided to have a bit of fun. I strung the caller along for a solid five minutes, pretending to be totally engaged, before I let slip that I’d be passing on their details to the fraud squad in their locality.
