Received a call on my telephone, but there was no one on the line. Eventually, an automated voice chimed in with a rather abrupt "goodbye."

The area code 0161 belongs to Greater Manchester in the UK. Over the past six months, I've been inundated with a multitude of calls from different numbers, all claiming to assist me in resolving my sluggish computer issues. Each caller has had an Indian accent, and a good number of these seem to originate from a company called Cyber-Astro. After I lodged a complaint, they've now started to dangle the carrot of refunds and complimentary insurance, but of course, this would require them to gain access to my computer once more. They used to identify themselves as representatives from Microsoft, waving around supposed error reports that indicated my PC needed urgent repairs. But interestingly, today, the chap claimed to be from Windows instead. He introduced himself as John Lea (or perhaps Leigh), working in the Administration Department. When I pressed him for his contact number, he actually provided me with 0161 381 0090, much to my astonishment! He delivered it in the customary English fashion, breaking it down into three segments, just as one would typically do.

I've received numerous calls from this number, yet there's only silence on the other end.

Missed a call earlier and found a brief voicemail waiting for me. Did a quick search on the number, and it appears it's linked to some dodgy characters posing as Windows tech support, claiming they can "sort out your computer issues." Thought I might ring them back to give them a bit of cheek, being a systems engineer and all, but when I tried calling again, all I got was a message saying, "You've reached an incorrect number. Goodbye." Quite the letdown, really!

Just like everyone else has said, we received a call around a month back saying "goodbye." Then, just today, we had a call claiming to be from Windows, stating they could sort out our issues. Ultimately, they tried to squeeze some cash out of us before abruptly ending the call. Total scam!!!

We experienced something quite similar. Let's hope it’s a final farewell to them!

As the phone chimed away, we were met with a rather eerie quiet for a couple of moments, before an automated voice coldly declared, "Goodbye." The minute we attempted to ring that number back for a proper telling-off, we were greeted with a series of beeping sounds, but then complete silence. Odd, to say the least!

Same situation here; she asked for things when she thought we’d come down in the last downpour, which she evidently didn’t fully understand and had to reiterate several times. Eventually, she relented once we pointed out that she seemed to think we were quite dim. It was rather entertaining, to say the least!
