4 yearsI received a call from a rather youthful chap, his accent definitely had a West Yorkshire twang. He informed me that I had been chosen as a finalist through some television puzzle promotion and claimed I was already a winner simply for being called! He mentioned I’d snagged two lottery tickets along with a pair of puzzle books. Curiously, he said he hailed from Bradford, my hometown, but when I inquired about his current residence, he mentioned Leeds, which set off a few alarm bells since the number he called from started with the Manchester area code! To add to my suspicion, he mentioned there’d be a minimal delivery fee and suggested I could settle it right then and there with my debit or credit card over the phone.
