When I picked up, I said to the girl, “hang on a sec love.” Then I called out to my missus, “pass me my hand, darling!” I had to apologise to the girl, saying, “Sorry about that, love. Still getting used to the hand replacement.” Had a crash about six months back and lost it. Might've kept it going if my wife hadn’t cracked up laughing. Haven’t had any calls from them since.

Seen this number before. When I picked up I said to the lass on the line, “give me a sec, love,” then called out to my missus, “can you hand me me glove, darling?” Apologised to the girl after, said I’m not used to wearing one yet. Lost me hand in a crash about half a year back. Might’ve kept chatting if my wife hadn’t started giggling. Haven’t heard from them since.

Some PPI firm rang me while I was at work, so I said they'd send paperwork just to get them to stop calling. After that, they kept ringing non stop while I was busy. When I finally picked up and said I didn’t want anything, the bloke got really rude and a bit aggressive. Just blocked the number.

I’m in debt counselling and about a year ago, I did a mystery shop on a firm named Swift Insolvency Solutions Ltd using a fake name just for that one time. When they called me back, they actually addressed me by that name. During the call, the agent said I was flagged for debt assistance, but the second I asked how they obtained my info, they just ended the call on me.

There’s a bunch of scammers going around, I had a proper chat with one bloke, agreed to all he said, then he asked me to send £150 to a Yorkshire bank account. I played along and said I knew what he was up to, and that’s when he started shouting abuse and hung up. I’m now working with Yorkshire bank to help catch these crooks.

Got a call on our work phone from a woman with an Asian accent asking for my husband, the MD, by his name. She said she was with Clear Water Business and could potentially reduce our bills by switching our water supplier. Knowing how many dodgy calls pop up from 0161 numbers, I wasn’t about to waste time. Told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call. After seeing other comments, it looks like these lot are just after any chance to scam folks.

I received a call today regarding a loan. They insisted that I must pay a £50 insurance fee prior to receiving the funds. They even directed me to a pay point to settle this via a PaySafe card. It's concerning how these loan companies can just siphon money from your account without a second thought. Truly despicable individuals, if you ask me!

On the 11th of August 2017, this number contacted my elderly parents, both of whom are living with dementia. My father struggled to grasp the conversation, but he did jot down some details for me to investigate. I attempted to trace the call using 1471, but naturally, this led nowhere! Clearly, this is a scam of some kind. My dad was left bewildered and distressed; he scribbled down figures of £3,600 and £280 linked to a solicitor, yet he can’t elaborate any further. He also noted "MoneyGram," "Scotter Road Post Office," "Alex," "Ministry of....," and "Graham." I urge you to put an end to these alarming phone calls immediately!

While visiting my elderly mother's abode, I got a call from an Asian gentleman using this number. He inquired after my father by name, claiming that there were funds due to him from his bank. I informed him that my father had passed away a year prior, but he was unrelenting, adamantly asserting that money was indeed owed and pressing for my father's birth details and other personal information. It's disgraceful how these individuals operate, and it's high time they faced severe penalties or even prison time for their deceitful practices.

Some chap, supposedly named Richard Brown from a so-called advisory group, has been in touch, blathering on about a number he’s been given and that someone will ring me back. He insists there's money I'm owed by the government. Honestly, it's blindingly obvious he’s based in either India or Bangladesh.

I’ve been getting calls from this number claiming they have a cheque for £3,600 waiting for me. However, they mentioned I’d need to cough up £360 to a solicitor before I could get my hands on it. When the solicitor rang later that day and I explained I simply couldn’t manage that kind of cash, he then asked if I had it in my bank account. I replied honestly that I didn’t, and just like that, he ended the call.

Some bloke in an Asian accent rang my place looking for someone not living here. When I asked who he was and where he got the number from, he claimed to be some sort of enforcer from an advisory panel. I asked again about the number and he said it came from a government database. I told him that sounded bollocks since I’m with the TPS and that he’s running a scam, plus I’d be reporting him straight to the authorities.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who kept asking for a name I’d never heard of. When I refused to give my own, he started calling me all sorts - w###, hooker, witch and whatnot. I told him where to shove it, but then he called me back just to keep abusing me. The number doesn’t even show up on reverse lookups, so how are we supposed to put an end to these idiots? I can laugh it off but I bet some folks would find that kind of rubbish really upsetting.

Got a call from a guy speaking with a hard-to-follow Asian accent claiming he was from the 'government reclaim dept' and said I had some bank charges to be refunded. When I asked him to send me something in writing, he just told me to get lost. Pretty rude! I've blocked the number now. Really annoying experience!

I received a call on behalf of my elderly dad, and the voice on the other end had an unmistakable Indian accent. As soon as my father began to inquire a bit more, the call mysteriously disconnected. Curious, I tried using 1471 to get the number, but when I called it back, all I heard was a "service unavailable" message before the line cut off entirely. Quite odd, if you ask me!

Then he asked me to confirm my address. I just said I wasn’t interested and ended the call, blocking the number straight away. Seems like a scam trying to get personal info.

I recently received a phone call from this number, and it was an Asian gentleman on the other end. When I declined to respond to his inquiries, he rudely told me to "bugger off, you silly woman." Quite the unpleasant interaction!

I didn’t get the fella’s name, but he spoke with an Asian accent. He claimed the Government owed me a refund and needed to check my date of birth and which bank to send the cheque to. After asking a few times why he needed that info and telling him I wasn’t about to give out personal details, plus that if the Government really owed me money they wouldn’t use someone like him to get my info, he got pretty angry. I ended the call. Properly annoying. Got a call blocker last Saturday and luckily managed to block him.

Received a call from 0161 3549887, sounded like some call centre. They asked if I have a daughter, I asked what business it was of theirs. Then the bloke said some really offensive stuff about her, proper disgusting. I called the Police using the number given and they said loads of people have reported it today. If you get a call like that, make sure you ring 101 and report it. Cops are treating it as a criminal matter now.

Got a ring from these guys earlier. They said they were with the government and already had my name and address. Then he asked for my DOB, saying it was so he could post me a cheque. I wasn't having it and asked why he’d be calling from abroad if he was legit. He just hung up right after.

I received a rather peculiar phone call today. The caller didn’t bother with a name, claiming instead to be from some government agency, asserting that I was entitled to a refund of bank charges from my financial institution. He had the cheek to address me by name, then proceeded to request my address and date of birth. Today, I got a rather suspicious call from this number claiming I was due a refund exceeding £1000 due to overpaid bank fees. They asserted that a government department would be sending me a cheque, then proceeded to ask for my date of birth and which bank I'd use to cash it. I found the request peculiar and refused to disclose my banking details. The chap on the other end became quite irate, so I decided it was best to end the conversation.

It's astounding how far these scammers will go!
