Got a call earlier with loads of noise in the background, sounded like a young bloke from abroad. When I questioned the reason for calling, he just went off saying I was an idiot and then dropped the call! Cheers to everyone sharing their experiences here, it really helps.

Got a call about some 40% tax refund on PPI, but the person was really rude and everything was just all over the place. Couldn't make heads or tails of it, so I just ended the call.

Today my mum got a call from this number. When she picked up, the person claimed it was about PPI and that we were owed a 40% refund. They said they were from a company called “gold” and that they were working for our bank (they even named it). They knew our address too. I asked if there was a phone number I could ring back on to confirm with the bank that it wasn’t a scam, and the guy said sure, he’d find it for me - then just hung up! Definitely a scam! I’ve reported it to the bank now.

Got a call from someone saying I might get a refund for a missold mortgage. Thing is, they were using my former name, which isn’t even on my mortgage, and my number’s registered with TPS anyway. Definitely feels like a scam, just trying to reel people in.
