I had a conversation today with some chaps who purport to be from a company known as Galome Mobile. The representative, who introduced himself as Tom, insisted that they were associated with EE. I was merely keen to discover what they had to offer, but it became clear that he was rather keen on getting me to make a choice on the spot. I decided to cut the call short and reached out to Orange instead, who presented me with a far more economical option. It seems these blokes employ a bit of jargon regarding recent developments to throw you off. Their quoted prices were about a tenner higher, which was a red flag for me; I realised they couldn’t possibly be linked to Orange or EE. Additionally, they called me well before my upgrade was due, and a quick chat with Orange confirmed I wouldn’t be eligible for an upgrade until the following week. It’s apparent these individuals are simply misrepresenting themselves and the deals they have on the table. Beware; it’s a classic trap.

I received a call around 11 o'clock this morning, and funnily enough, it just happened again. They've never bothered to leave a voicemail, and when I answered, there was nothing but dead air. My provider is EE, previously known as Orange.

Today, I spotted a missed call from this number on my phone at precisely 11:32am, but I decided against picking up since I usually avoid answering calls from unfamiliar digits. They didn’t leave a voicemail either. After having a look at some of the earlier comments, I noticed that EE comes up quite often. Like many others sharing their experiences here, I've also been receiving calls from this number roughly four times a week. It rang today while I was unwell and resting due to a chronic illness. I really can't wrap my head around why there isn't stricter government regulation to stop companies from this sort of behaviour. For individuals without health issues, it's irritating enough; for those of us dealing with ongoing conditions, it feels utterly dreadfully intrusive. We ought to have the right to take legal action against service providers for such incessant annoyance from their so-called clientele. From what I've gleaned in the comments, it certainly looks like it's EE behind these calls.

My 12-year-old daughter received a call from this number on her device, which she only uses to reach me. It's registered in my name and is an extra line on my account. The only possible way they could have obtained her number is through EE, our mobile provider. I would have assumed this sort of thing would be against the law, but it certainly leaves me fuming! Who knows who might get in touch with her next, presumably because EE has shared her number-perhaps for a fee?! It's quite scandalous, if you ask me!

I’ve just had a call from this number, and it’s definitely not the first time. I've noticed a similar pattern with other numbers starting with the 0161 code. I highly suspect this isn't a local Manchester number at all. It feels like it could be linked to Nigeria or India. I wonder if our phone numbers are being shared by the service providers?
