I've been inundated with calls that seem to come from a fax machine - and then the line goes silent. It's getting rather frustrating, to be honest. To make matters worse, I can't get through to the number either.

It seems there’s a bit of a muddle going on here. They claim to represent O2, yet there’s a link back to Carphone Warehouse, though I didn’t quite catch the name they threw about. They contacted me regarding my contract, mentioning it was due for a review, and offered me a deal on an iPhone 5c. However, the phone never showed up. When I reached out to inquire, they told me I wasn’t eligible for an upgrade, hence it never got sent out! As for how they obtained my information, they mentioned something about online databases or possibly from signing up for the NEXT directory... Quite puzzling, isn’t it?

I can confirm what Jess mentioned; I too received a call from this number claiming to represent O2. They were trying to entice me with a deal on an iPhone 5c. They seemed to have all my information at hand, so they didn’t request any additional details, which left me puzzled about what their actual motive was. All they accomplished was keeping me on the line for a good quarter of an hour!

It looked as though there was an office environment on the other end, with a woman engaged in a conversation with another individual. She appeared completely oblivious to the fact that I had picked up the phone.

I've been graced with a few calls from this number not long ago. They rang me multiple times yet left no voicemail. Eventually, I decided to answer. The caller claimed to be from O2, stating I was eligible for an upgrade-which, to be fair, I actually am. They proceeded to present me with an enticing offer on a new mobile while keeping me on my existing contract price. I went along with it, particularly since they didn't request any sensitive information, like my bank details, which would usually raise a red flag. However, the handset never arrived, which struck me as rather peculiar. A quick search online revealed that this number isn’t affiliated with O2 at all! Quite baffling and rather frustrating. It seems they might be using this as a tactic to verify personal information for some database or another. Should I discover that it’s linked to Carphone Warehouse or a similar outfit, they can be assured they won’t be getting any custom from me. It has been a right nuisance, and I’m absolutely fuming over it.

Got a call from this number earlier, they were trying to sell me an upgrade. I told them I'd consider it and asked for their contact details. The number then connected me to a woman who answered with a totally different company name. I mentioned I was actually after "Get Connected" but she insisted they dealt with mobile phones as well. Felt dodgy so I just ended the call - definitely seems like a scam to me.

This call was from O2 then.

I found myself in a rather unpleasant situation with a representative from O2 - they were shockingly impolite! I decided it was best to just end the call.

I’m absolutely fed up with these annoying calls, getting at least three every single day. I signed up with the TPS ages ago but it seems to make no difference. Now I’m seriously thinking about reporting every single one of them. Is there any chance we can take legal action against these pests?

this number rings me loads but when i pick up nothing is said, then it just ends up as a missed call on my phone every single time it happens.

They keep ringing but never bother to say anything, which is just so confusing!

So, they rang me again after I saw this post. When I picked up, I whispered, "It’s all sorted, but you’ll want to send someone to tidy up, there’s blood all over the place." Haven’t had a single call from them after that.

They aren’t from o2 at all. I got a call from someone claiming to be from the “Upgrade team at Elite… something” supposedly working for o2, but when I said no thanks, they insisted it was o2. They tried to convince me my contract was due for a review and that they could give me a cheaper plan with a new phone. Thing is, I’d already done an upgrade straight through o2 just a couple of weeks ago. I then asked them to tell me what my current monthly bill was according to their system. They said they couldn’t, as it was some sort of security check to confirm my identity. I pointed out they called me, so they should have my details already. The guy got a bit annoyed when I mentioned I’d already sorted my upgrade.

Last month I was due for a contract renewal and got a call on 1/10/13 from someone claiming to be from 02, offering a phone upgrade over the phone. I went ahead with it, and then the person put me through to their “supervisor” who wrapped up the process. Luckily, I didn’t hand over any sensitive info like bank details. He told me the phone would arrive within 48 hours. A week passed and still no phone. So I rang 02 directly and they said they had no record of the order whatsoever. Don’t pick up calls like this! Also, the “supervisor” gave me a helpline number which was 01612600328.

Definitely NOT from o2! They tried to convince me I’d ordered something (luckily I didn’t share any personal details). When the phone never arrived by the date they gave, I checked with o2 and they said there was no order under my name.

Best to just block or ignore this number, or pretend you’re considering it. Your best bet is to contact your actual provider directly. Took me a while, but I’ve now got my genuine upgrade sorted properly.

Got a call from this number, sounded like one of those companies trying to sell mobile deals, something like 'car phone warehouse' kind of vibe. They told me they work with all the mobile networks and were pushing me to switch my contract since mine was about to end or been the same for ages. They did quote me a decent offer but I told them I'd mull it over. After that I rang my own network and found out they were offering the exact same package anyway.

This number has been ringing me daily but leaves no voicemail and won’t connect when I try calling back. It’s really annoying and should definitely be blocked.

Just got a call from them and they couldn’t tell me anything about my contract, saying it was due to 'data protection' (like how much of my data I’ve used). They also said they’re connected to Carphone Warehouse, not O2 directly, but they’re “working on behalf of O2”. Then they mentioned that O2 supposedly have no iPhones available right now... bit weird if you ask me.

This number keeps ringing me every day, but they don't bother dropping a voicemail. Whenever I give them a ring back, it just goes straight to an out of service tone. Total pain in the neck. I've now got it saved in my phone as 'Ignore'.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2 but it was definitely a scam. Totally not O2 at all. Watch out!

Been getting calls like all the time recently, and after checking other people's comments, it seems it might be related to mobile phones. Coincidentally, my contract is due for renewal around now.

Got a call from this number earlier and all I heard was silence, seems like they're going around making these quiet calls!

I got a call saying it was about upgrading my mobile contract, acting like it was from my current network. When they started quizzing me about my minutes, I told them they should already have that info and asked where exactly they were calling from. Definitely added them to my block list - that list’s getting seriously long lately!

This number rings a few times every week but nothing's said, just silence on the other end. I reckon it might be one of those PPI scams or maybe something to do with my mobile contract, who knows.

This number keeps ringing my phone but never leaves a voicemail, and when I pick up there’s no one there. Does anyone have any idea who it could be?

This number has been ringing me almost daily for what feels like ages, trying to sell some suspicious phone deals. It’s really annoying. I usually pick up and then just hang up straight away. But what bugs me is, how do they even know what kind of contract I’ve got?

This number rings me every day. A few times I picked up but there was just silence, then the call ended suddenly. I tried calling back but somehow the call just disconnected as well. Really strange behaviour.
