Just got a call at about half past five from Wayne claiming to be from some finance firm saying I was owed thousands in refunds, and that paperwork would be sent soon. He tried to verify my address but had my old one, asked if I still lived there, and as soon as I said no, he cut the call. Lucky I looked up the number here first, it’s now blocked from my phone.

Totally sounds like one of those boiler-room calls. They wanted me to send over docs to get some 'refund' from a bank! After reading other people’s comments about this number, it’s clear they’re running some kinda scam. I told the person I wasn’t buying it and that it was a scam call from a boiler-room. At least he said cheers for my time before hanging up quickly! Proper muppets!

Got a call from this number saying I was owed a refund of £1003 for some wrongly paid PPI. When I asked them which banks or mortgages were involved, the person got all vague and just said “all the high street lenders.” I asked them how they could claim I was due money if they couldn’t give me exact info, and the caller got annoyed and quickly hung up. I’ve blocked the number now!

Got multiple calls from this number and ignored most of them, but picked up once thinking it was someone from Manchester. The bloke kept repeating stuff others mentioned but wouldn’t answer any of my questions. Kept on about PPI even though I’ve never claimed any. I ended up telling him to piss off, or something close to that, then I just hung up. Complete scam, don’t give them a single bit of info.

some bloke rang me saying I could get £1003 back for PPI, but when I said I never had PPI, he suddenly said it was only a POSSIBLE £1003! total scam, he also claimed they sent paperwork to my home but had no clue where I lived! FYI, if you reckon you got PPI money owed, just do it yourself, these firms just rip you off and take a cut. AVOID answering.

Some bloke claimed he was calling from Lloyds bank and even knew my address. I told him to do one coz I don’t have an account with them. Then he goes, “No, I’m Lloyds bank, not calling for Lloyds.” What a rubbish excuse, total scammer!

Some bloke called Callum from this “ascend” company rang me saying I’d be getting a letter in the next day about a PPI refund I supposedly qualify for. He said he needed to double check a few bits. He asked for my address (I made one up and he didn’t bat an eye, even though he said the letter was already sent?), then my bank details (also fake) and then started asking who was on the account and wanted to confirm info so my refund wouldn’t get held up. Seriously, don’t bother answering!
