This number rings me up about 3 times a week, sometimes even 4. When I pick up, there’s just silence and strange noises, then they quickly hang up. I reported it to OFCOM but nothing's changed so far (do they actually do anything at all?). Maybe if enough of us complain, they’ll finally pay attention.

Absolute muppets, sounds like a TalkTalk call centre to me. Just got a call from some young woman with an Indian accent asking to speak to my missus. I said she wasn't home, though she actually was. Then I asked if I could leave a message and who was calling. Suddenly the line went dead quiet and I could hear a bunch of chatter in the background like a noisy call centre. When I asked again who they were, they just hung up on me. For a company called TalkTalk, they sure don’t seem very chatty. Looks like they’re just plodding through a list of names, and if they can’t reach the person, they get all weird and then drop the call. Bet they just try the next number on their list without a second thought.

For the past couple of weeks, this number has been ringing my landline about three times daily, which has been driving me mad. Today, I decided to answer and let out a loud whistle right into the receiver - such a piercing sound, I doubt they’ll bother again. I plan to keep doing this until they link their calls to a headache and finally back off. It’s pretty rude to keep ringing, especially when they let it ring for like a whole minute before hanging up. At least they don’t hide behind a withheld number, so that’s something, I guess!

Today, just after 1pm, I got a call from 01612448123. A bloke made a weird noise, kind of like a burp, and I could hear a few women and him chuckling away in the background. Nobody said a word before they suddenly hung up. I'm about to switch from TalkTalk soon, so I thought maybe it was someone who had access to my number via them. I’m only changing my provider, not my phone number, because I need to keep it for different reasons. At first, I felt a bit uneasy, but after searching that number online, I discovered it was linked to TalkTalk somehow. Since I’m ex-directory, they must have got my details from TalkTalk. The background sounded like it was either a small office or a home, given all the laughing I could hear.

So yesterday, this guy with a really annoying accent phoned me from this number, saying he was from TalkTalk. He was trying to sell me a sim-only deal. I told him I wasn't interested but he kept pestering me, even asking about my monthly phone bill. Got pretty rude when I said no and wouldn’t take the hint, so I ended up just hanging up. Then today, bam, same annoying dude calls again with that fake accent. If he rings once more, he’s getting recorded and I’ll be reporting him for sure.

Got a call from this number earlier, they claimed to be from TalkTalk. Since I just signed up with them, they said switching my Pay As You Go mobile plan could save me about £5 a month. They kept going on about some phone upgrade worth £200 coming soon from O2 rewards, which sounded like complete nonsense to me. Haven't had any more calls from them after that!

This has got to be a scam. TalkTalk claims it’s some kind of joke, which is pretty weak considering it could easily lead to fraud or someone stealing your TalkTalk info. Honestly, what do you expect from big companies? They don’t really care since they hold the contract and often have access to your bank details, making it hard to even cancel. And don’t think all scammers are just from Nigeria!
