Got a call from this number, a bloke with a strong Indian accent said he was ringing from some place like Home Repair UK. He asked if I had any repairs needed and claimed if I gave him the details, the council would sort the fix for free through his firm. When I wasn’t keen to give info, he kept asking what language I spoke and started guessing, like maybe I didn't speak English. I wanted to know why they needed info about my house, but he had trouble explaining, then passed me to someone else. That person said I could send photos of repairs via WhatsApp and they’d forward them to the council who’d approve fixing within 28 days. They added I had to be living in a council house, but if I had bought it from the council, I couldn’t get it fixed. They clearly don't understand how council housing actually works in the UK and aren’t a genuine British company.
