Absolute con! Whatever you do, don't share a thing. The bloke had a distinct South East Asian twang (not to race-bait, mind, as I've got Indian heritage myself). He claimed he was phoning on behalf of the council about some repairs pertaining to damp and mould. I informed him that I don't dwell in a council house and that damp isn't an issue for me. Suddenly, he started prying into whether I was renting or owned my property. I made it clear that it was none of his concern, and before I knew it, he cut the call.

I received a rather odd phone call from a chap inquiring if I had sustained any damage to my property. After a rather amusing exchange, where I informed him that the only ‘damage’ I’d experienced was the unfortunate breakage of my beloved broom-which hardly seemed to warrant a claim!-it became clear that he wasn't catching on to my playful banter. I made it abundantly clear that I'd be sharing no details with him. Ultimately, it was only when I flatly told him I recognised the call as a scam that he promptly ended our conversation. How very predictable!

Received a call from someone claiming they were with the housing maintenance division, inquiring if I had encountered any issues with my property. They mentioned they were offering complimentary repairs. The number was from Manchester, and since I reside in London, it's clearly a dodgy ruse.
