I got a call from this person who seemed to just want to vent, maybe 'cause someone had upset her earlier. I tried to hear her out, but it quickly felt like she was having a go at me. I had to cut her off because I've got my own problems, like Alzheimer's, and don't really need that kind of stress on top!

Got a call out of the blue that felt like a scam. Definitely didn’t want to answer it.

Some bloke rang up claiming he was from Microsoft and insisted my PC had some kind of virus. I played along for a while, pretending I was doing what he said but kept saying it didn’t add up. He kept telling me to check some Windows directory but I kept saying it wasn’t there. Managed to throw him off for a bit. After a while, I told him I actually run Linux, not Windows, and that ended the call sharpish.

So I got a call from a woman with what sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent, saying she was from Microsoft about an issue with my computer. Right away, I got suspicious. I told her my PC was fine and that I wasn’t falling for any tricks, then ended the call. Like others have mentioned, she did know my name, which honestly worries me a bit.

I’ve had loads of scam calls like that pretending to be from Microsoft before, so I just hung up. She phoned again twice, and on the third call she got really shouty and started yelling at my husband to get me back on the line!

some bloke called kevin smith claiming to be from microsoft. he mentioned something about an ‘operating system user number’ and it seemed like he wanted to hack into my pc remotely or something. total con job. i hung up, but he rang back sounding really pushy and rude. hung up on him once more and then blocked the number.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. He asked, "Are you the primary user of the computer?" So I replied, "What computer?" which seemed to confuse him a bit, like it wasn’t in his usual lines. I let him talk for a few minutes but eventually told him he was just a scammer and a liar. Then he hung up. Quite amusing really.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from Microsoft, claiming there were problems with my PC. I told her I wasn't buying it and ended the call. Then she rang back, asking why I'd cut her off. She insisted she could back up her story if I let her access my administrator account to check the messages. I just hung up again. Haven't heard from her since.

just got loads of annoying calls on my landline from a new manchester number claiming to be microsoft - total scam! also this morning, a glasgow number 01412803852 left a voicemail about some white goods insurance, but looks like it’s one of those newer numbers that’s been ringing heaps of landlines recently. both just scams trying to waste people’s time.

Some bloke claiming to be Henry Scott from Microsoft phoned up. He even knew my mum’s maiden name and kept saying her PC was hacked or something. He wanted me to check some messages and log into the computer for him. I told him to jog on and then he had the cheek to ring back a couple of times after we ended the call!

I got a call supposedly from Microsoft, saying they were from Reading and wanted to speak to the primary user of the computer. I told them it’s a shared computer that many people use. They just ended the call straight away. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Got a call from this number earlier today and they actually used my name. The guy said he was with Microsoft and had quite a strong Asian accent. He claimed my computer was hacked and my info was being misused all across the UK. The way he spoke was kinda odd, like he was holding back a laugh, and you could hear some chuckling from other people nearby in the background. I just ended the call and put the number on my BT block list straight away.

A young lady reached out asking for someone who hasn't resided here. I informed her that the person in question has never lived at this address, and that they had actually called about a month ago looking for the same individual. She flatly denied ever making that call. It’s got all the hallmarks of a debt collection agency. Then, just half an hour later, the same number rang back but there was just silence on the line. When I attempted to return the call, it said the number was unavailable. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

I've been plagued by this same caller for the entirety of the day. I attempted to block the number, yet somehow, they still manage to get through. Hence, I've decided against picking up when this number pops up. To make matters worse, the individual has now started calling from a different line, 02476019910. Even after I’ve hung up, the incessant ringing still persists!
