Got a call from someone with an Indian accent who strangely knew my name. They mentioned they thought I was family, which is weird since I’m white and have no connections there. They claimed to be ringing from Birmingham, but the number showed up as Manchester. Just warning folks, it sounds like a total scam.

It’s ridiculous how these scammers keep taking advantage of people who are easy targets. You’d think the government would step in and make some laws to put a stop to it. That 0161 number is definitely from Manchester, but I never answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Funny thing is, they don’t even have the decency to leave a voicemail.

My spouse took a call from this number and ended up chatting for about ten minutes. He mentioned he wasn’t keen on what they were offering and hung up. Since then, we’ve been bombarded with roughly twenty calls. One chap even left a rather irate message demanding we pick up. We decided not to engage, and we certainly won’t be answering in the future.

Some bloke rang me up claiming he was from Microsoft, saying my PC got hacked or something. He kept pushing me to log on straight away, saying he just wanted to fix the problem. He mentioned an address too - something about Reading, Thames Valley Park, Campus Building 1, RG6 1WG, and gave a phone number: 0344 800 2400. Sounded dodgy to me.

Got loads of calls from Asian folks all claiming they need to get into my laptop. They wouldn’t stop trying to make me download things like TeamViewer and AnyCaller, saying it was from Microsoft. Got this call twice in just a couple of days. The person said something like, “We’re from Microsoft about your PC,” but I wasn’t having any of it. Somebody called me, saying it was about “my computer.” When I asked which computer exactly, they just answered “all of them” and said it had something to do with my internet connection.
