Got a message, sounded like it was from hmrc. recognised the number from a previous call so just hung up and blocked them. definitely a scam, total con job!

I just got this really rubbish computer-generated message supposedly from HMRC. The accent was so dodgy it was almost funny, telling me to ring them back. Definitely sounded dodgy to me!

i wouldnt bother returning calls from this number. i ignored it when they rang, but they left a message that sounded like some automated voice saying, “this is officer #### from hmrc, call us back or you’ll get arrested.” best just to block it and not reply.

The person on the line was really intimidating, threatening that I’d be arrested if I didn’t clear the outstanding payments. They claimed an officer would come round to my place for questioning, and insisted I was treated like a criminal until the money was settled. At first, they told me to pay online but then suddenly said I needed to visit the bank to do the transfer. They also demanded I stay on the call until the payment was made. When I mentioned I’d never received any letter, they said it had been sent but supposedly rejected and returned.

Got a call that said it was from HMRC, threatening me with legal trouble. The voice sounded like it was made by a dodgy computer, really low quality, but I guess some people might find it quite scary.
