Got a call from what they claimed was Eon, but funny enough, just yesterday it was British Gas ringing me. They kept pushing that our contract's running out and if I didn't renew on the spot, they'd disconnect our supply. I told the bloke I wasn't daft and saw right through their scam. He kept going on, so I just ended the call. Total waste of time, these lot.

Definitely a scam, very obvious one too. They ain’t ringing from Manchester or BG, and they’re not with any energy company either. I’ve already flagged it on this website and reported it through the Action Fraud page to the UK police. These scammers hate when their calls get reported because it might really mess things up for them down the line.

I got a call from this number and the person on the other end got all mixed up and couldn’t keep track of who they said they were. At first, they said they were with Eon, but I’ve also gotten calls from this same number where they said they were British Gas or Scottish Power. After I ended the call the first time, they rang me back again twice. Quite confusing!

I got a call from an Indian bloke, sounded like some noisy call centre. Claimed he was with British Gas, but it’s always on a Friday they call, and usually, they say EON is ringing. I told him to just post me some paperwork - doubt I’ll see anything in the post though. Eventually, I just ended the call. I’m expecting a few more weeks of these calls before they give it a rest for a while.

Got a call from someone saying they were with British Gas, but there was so much noise in the background, sounded like a factory or something busy. The person sounded quite pushy and spoke with an Indian accent. Felt a bit off, to be honest.

Had a call from an Indian woman claiming to be with British Gas. I told her our landlord handles the bills since we pay rent straight to them. She got quite rude, insisting she was trying to save us some money, but I explained again that the landlord deals with utilities. She then muttered something in what I guess was her native language and hung up on me. Just last week, an Indian man from exactly the same number rang, saying he was from Eon. Honestly, do they really think we’re that gullible?

At first, they claimed to be from British Gas, then switched to EON, and finally said Opus. They've called me loads of times. When I told the bloke I'd report them under GDPR, he just got all sarcastic. I asked for the company’s name, and he cheekily said 'ding dong company'. Yeah, don’t bother trying to argue with them - they seem to get a kick out of it and then start acting all condescending.

I've been inundated with calls from this number, insisting they're representatives of Eon and that they want to send me my welcome pack. Interestingly, I actually already have Eon as my supplier, so I decided to ring them up. To my surprise, they had no record of this whatsoever! I urge everyone not to divulge any personal details to these callers. They seem intent on getting you to sign a letter of authorisation to transfer your energy supply, particularly aiming at those who might be out of contract. It's nothing but a scam! Please stay vigilant!

What’s more, I overheard a mate of his in the background saying he was actually with British Gas. Pretty dodgy if you ask me!

I received a call from someone named Ali, claiming to be from EON, and he wanted to speak to the manager. I informed him there isn’t a manager here, and he mentioned it was regarding our EON account. I promptly replied that he must be mistaken since we have no account with EON. He insisted I was incorrect. Curious, I asked him when he thought we last sent any funds their way. Then, he inquired if we were “Bellinis,” to which I clarified, “no, that establishment closed its doors ages ago.” He apologised profusely before ending the call. Clearly, he wasn’t from EON at all!
