this lady with an asian accent rang me up pretending to be from o2, saying i could get 6gb data plus unlimited calls and texts for £21 a month. then she totally forgot her story and asked me what network i was on. basically wasted five minutes of their time.

someone pretended to be from 02 and asked for my account number, sort code and the 16 digits on the front of my card to prove my identity. i just hung up and called 02 directly, they said they never ask for that info and if they ever did, the call would come from an 0800 number. two things dont sit right with me here. 1) i top up using my debit card so my card is already linked to my phone. 2) when you buy a phone from a shop, its tied to you because you have to spend like 15 mins with a sales person providing your details.

Received a call purporting to be from O2. I suspect it was a phishing attempt. They insisted that my monthly top-up for texts couldn’t possibly be £5, since they claimed the minimum was £10. After a bit of back and forth, they just hung up on me. I've now blocked that number.

someone said they were from o2 phishing or something, kept telling me my monthly text top-up was £10 at least but mine’s always been £5. wouldn’t listen and just hung up. blocked the number after that.

Received a call supposedly from O2, but I suspect it was a phishing scam. They insisted that my monthly top-up for texts couldn't be as low as £5, stating £10 was the minimum. When I tried to explain, they just hung up on me! I've since blocked the number. - caller: O2

Said they were from O2 and even texted me from a number that looked like it was O2, but when I asked about my last top-up amount they couldn’t tell me. Felt really dodgy, so I just blocked them.

somebody said they were from 02, and when i asked, they sent me a text on my 02 pay as you go phone that looked pretty legit. they tried to sell me a £9.50 a month plan for a phone i hardly ever use. got calls from them two days in a row and figured that's it, blocked their number.
