Shortly after, I got a call from a lady who was all too eager to sell me on some scheme to elevate my website to the upper echelons of Google's search results. Prior to this, I’d been warned to steer clear of any verbal commitments over the phone, even uttering a simple "yes" could be a trap. Scammers are known to manipulate recordings to make it sound like you've consented to buy their dodgy services. I made it quite clear I wasn't interested, even being a bit curt, and suddenly she switched gears, rambling on about some psychic she’d encountered in town who supposedly revealed details about her life. She actually asked me if I thought the psychic was “legit”! How on earth would I know? Completely off-topic and utterly irrelevant to my business, so I promptly ended the call. I've blocked their number now. Just a word of caution: keep an eye out for 0161 and 0141 numbers; they’re often connected to these phone fraudsters.
