Just like the rest, I got a call saying my internet was gonna be disconnected. The bloke claimed he was from Virgin Media’s tech team and asked me to switch on my computer and stay by it. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone who said they were from BT, telling me my phone line was having issues. He was rude, telling me to switch on devices and tweak settings like I knew what I was doing. Pretty much the same story as the rest, they claimed my internet was about to be cut off. The guy ringing me, who sounded South Asian, didn’t get far enough to ask for remote access to my laptop though. I'd say this is definitely Dangerous territory. This number shouldn’t just be blocked by users, it needs to be reported to the phone company to have it shut down, and also to the authorities, since it’s clearly against the law what they're trying to do.

Some bloke with an Indian accent called me up saying my internet would be disconnected in a day. When I asked who he was working for, he claimed it was Sky. I told him I wasn’t a Sky customer, but he said there’s some kind of shared server with my ISP. I explained the computer was my lad’s and said I'd get him on the phone, then just left it ringing and put the phone down. It’s really upsetting how many people must fall for this sort of thing - wish there was more done to crack down on these scammers.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from “BT Openreach” about multiple errors with my internet. I asked them where they were calling from and they said the BT tower in London. I tried asking a few more things but they didn’t have any answers. I just hung up in the end. Later, I dialled 1471 and it showed the number as 0161 123 4784 - that’s a Manchester area code, not London. Seems like an inexperienced scammer slipped up by leaving their actual number!

Someone called me saying there was a problem with my internet, so I ended up blocking their number. Then, I got another call from a number almost the same but when I answered, there was nobody there. I just hung up and blocked that one too.

Got a call from abroad this morning with someone pretending to be from bt. He told me my internet was about to be cut off and said i had to follow some steps on my computer to fix it. Thing is, bt doesnt even provide my internet. He tried to get me to join some screen sharing site so he could access my laptop. When i started asking questions, he got really aggressive and snappy. Avoid these calls, they’r all scams looking to rip you off and cause trouble.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming my internet was causing issues on their system and that I’d probably lose connection soon. The number started with 0161, which is Manchester, so I asked where she was based. She said London, but when I asked for her number back she just cut off. Definitely smells fishy, best to just ignore these calls.

I told him he was just talking rubbish, said it twice to make sure, then he just hung up. Would’ve loved to catch him a third time for a hat-trick!

Had a call from someone claiming they needed to fix my internet and wanted me to link up through TeamViewer [###]. Sounds like one of those sly scams that play on folks who aren’t tech-savvy and are worried about losing their net connection. Best to avoid it altogether.

Some bloke called saying he was Mark from Sky and warned me my internet would be cut off in 24 hours. When I told him I wasn't with Sky, he said, “I know.” I then told him that this call was being monitored by TPS and, just like that, he hung up. Gone in a flash.
