Received a call today from someone purporting to be from Amazon, insisting that a fee of £39.99 would be deducted from my account unless I hit 1 to talk to a manager. Naturally, I pressed 1, only for the call to drop immediately. I tried ringing back, but the line was perpetually busy. I then reached out to Amazon directly, and they assured me that I’m not a Prime member and that the call was definitely not from them. What a dodgy situation!
