Yesterday, Thursday 30th March, I got called four times and then again four times today, Friday 31st. I just didn’t pick up. Proper annoying it is.

Sounded legit enough, some bloke saying he was from Telephone Preference Management - supposed to stop those annoying international calls. Asked for my address and I’m sure he’d have asked for bank info if I'd kept chatting. Best just avoid answering and block that number if you can.

This number has been ringing me over and over again, the bloke sounds like he’s got an Indian accent and keeps saying my bank card info has run out and he wants my new details. He’s really pushy about it. I keep telling him to find an honest job instead.

Sounds like a scam to me. They seem to know a bit, but I reckon they’re fishing for more info. Got two calls like this already, the second one ended quick when I told the bloke I knew he’d called just the day before and I wasn’t sharing anything.

Got a call from 01607418088. A woman with an Asian accent claimed she was from some Telephone Call Blocking service and said they’d already added my number to stop annoying calls. I asked her who gave them permission to do that and told her if I wanted this service, I’d ask for it myself. She just cut the call right away.

This person called claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and read out our name and address. Then asked if we pay our phone bill by Direct Debit. She repeated the question a few times. Then she asked if it's true our credit card runs out in 2017? Next, she wanted to know if a cheque book was nearby - really pushy. After getting nothing from me, she hung up. My wife found it funny since I was out all night and I keep my card and cheque book safely locked up! It's quite sad that someone has to make a living doing this.

Got a call from a woman with an American accent, said she was from the TPS call blocking team. She already had my name and address, then asked for my card expiry info. Definitely a scam, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from an Indian lady claiming to be from TPS, she knew loads about me like my name and address and said she needed to update my info. Then she started asking for my debit card info, so I asked why she needed it and told her I never make outgoing calls from my phone. She just ended the call right there.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from TPS, started asking for my bank info so I left them on hold. They rang me back trying to reach me again.

I get calls non stop from this Asian lady saying there’s something wrong with my computer. I can't work out how they still manage to pull this off nowadays. It really feels like a proper scam to me. Honestly, why isn't the government cracking down on this stuff more?

Got a call from a guy named Bruce with an Asian accent claiming he was from this Telephone Preference Management thing, asking for my bank info. Before that, someone rang saying they were from BT and telling me there were issues with my internet. I told them I don’t even have internet, or any devices like a laptop, PC, iPad, or smartphone, so they just hung up straight away.

Didn’t manage to answer the call fast enough. My blocker passed it through cos it showed up as a UK number, which was a bit annoying. Shame, I was actually looking forward to wasting the time of that nuisance and then hitting them with some proper rude and offensive stuff. Would be great if Spike Milligan gave me another ring!

A guy with an Asian accent called, saying his name was Bruce and he worked for some telephone preference management group. He claimed they could now offer a service to block all international nuisance calls, but wanted to verify my name and address. I was suspicious and refused to give any details. He kept pushing though. When I asked if there was a charge, he said it was free. Then I requested the company’s website, and he suddenly seemed lost for words. I told him it felt like a scam since he couldn’t answer a simple question outside his usual script. He then passed me onto someone else who tried to be friendly and persuasive. I told that supervisor that if the update was genuine, there shouldn't be any need to call to confirm my information, and accused them of trying to scam people out of bank details. I told them to find a more honest line of work and hung up. This number has called me multiple times pretending to be different companies - they're just awful!

Got a call from this number and it was exactly like all the other stories here. I told the woman I didn't know who she was and refused to share any details about my debit card. She just said “have a nice day” before I hung up. Seriously, don’t pick up - it’s got scam written all over it!

Just like other folks have said here, I’ll be reporting these calls to the ICO too. I looked up the TPS and they confirm scams are out there and said they never ask for money, but I couldn’t find anywhere on their site to actually report the scammers. Got two calls in as many days - one from an Asian bloke and one from a woman. Both had pretty much the same script and got rude and annoyed when I questioned if it was legit. Ended the call before they could get a word in.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming she was from some call blocking service (I'm registered with TPS). She asked me to confirm my name and credit card expiry details. I said no, and she got a bit annoyed, pressing me again, asking if I had any direct debit payments. I told her I was hanging up and did just that. Seconds later, she rang back asking for the card expiry date once more. I refused again, told her not to ring me again, and ended the call.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming I’d signed up for TPS before and he just needed to verify my info. He started off with my name and address which he already had, then asked for my card expiry and stuff. I got annoyed and told him I wasn’t buying any of it. He got pretty rude and didn’t back off, so I just hung up on him.

Got a call from an Asian lady claiming they stop nuisance calls, then asked for card info to confirm, sounded like she had all my personal stuff. Just ended the call straight away.

Ended the call both times I asked who it was. From what I’ve read on other sites, these folks are usually after your bank info.

Somebody just tried to trick me into handing over my bank info. I’m definitely reporting it to action fraud.

I've been getting loads of calls from a bloke with an Asian accent, who keeps saying he's from the telephone preference service, asking to speak to a Mrs Seagrave. They get a bit pushy if you answer. Whenever I hang up, it still feels like the phone line is somehow stuck or connected - can't seem to get rid of the interference on my phone at all. Obviously sounds dodgy to me, looks like some sort of scam.

Make sure to report scam calls straight to the ICO. These scammers couldn't care less about posts on forums, but they get really annoyed when the ICO gets involved, and it only takes a couple of mins on their website. Your phone provider doesn’t really bother to help since they’re making money from selling caller ID and charging for call blocking services anyway.

Like a few others mentioned, I got a call from a lady claiming she was from some TPS thing. She somehow already knew my name, where I live and the postcode. Then she started asking for my card details, which made me super suspicious. I told her straight I don’t give out any personal info on the phone, and warned her that I’d be looking up her number online, and if it looked dodgy I’d be reporting it to the police. I just ended the call after that.

Got the same call, didn’t know the number so just let it ring out. No voicemail or anything. Just another scammer trying their luck.

Got a call from an Asian lady asking for my husband by his name. Told her he wasn't home and asked if I could take a message. She said she'd ring back later. When I asked who she was, she muttered something about marketing and nuisance calls, but it was hard to catch. I just said alright and ended the call. Seeing the other comments now, it’s clear it was a scam, so I’m relieved I didn’t get caught up in it.

The phone keeps buzzing but I avoid answering since I saw what others said. They never seem to leave a voicemail either.

Just got a call from these scammers, i recomend reporting them to call action fraud at 0300 123 2040, that’s what i did and you should too!

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from TPS, asking if I’d been receiving nuisance calls. When I admitted I had, she asked me to verify my address. Then she pushed me to give the expiry date on my credit card. I wasn’t comfortable sharing that, so I said no. She kept insisting she wasn’t after sensitive info. When I still declined, she said she would report me to her supervisor. That’s when I ended the call.

Some annoying bloke with an Asian accent called asking for my name. I asked who was asking, and he snapped back saying if I couldn’t understand English. I told him I understand it better than him. Then he went on to ask if I was deaf, and I just replied no, but wanted to know who he was and what he wanted. He called me arrogant, but I said he was the one being rude and told him I’d report him to the ICO. He just hung up after that.

Got a call from someone called "Steve" claiming to be from Telephone Preference Management, asking if I get spam calls. I said "yeah, there's one ringing now" and then he just cut me off. "Steve" had an accent that seemed Indian or something like that.

Got a call this morning at 9.40am, sounded pretty convincing at first. My husband answered but quickly spotted it was dodgy and ended the call. Then they rang back again. After reading these comments, I’ve reported it to the ICO since we're on the TPS list. I've warned my elderly parents too - it’s really scary how they seem to know so much about you!

Ignore this number, it's definitely a scam.

This bloke called himself Mark. He wanted me to say my name and where I lived, even though he already had that info. Said he was there to help block annoying calls. Then he asked me to check my cheque book and tell him what it showed. He insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything, but kept pushing about what was in my cheque book. I told him my cheque book was none of his business and then I just ended the call.

They claimed to be with the TPS and asked if I wished to continue my subscription, then wanted to know if I had a debit card ready!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from TPS and told me I'd been getting loads of calls. Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who wanted to check my address and asked if I was still receiving unwanted calls. She then asked when my credit card expiry was and said she’d wait while I found the details. I didn’t give anything and just ended the call. Definitely a scam, don’t give them a single bit of info. Stay safe!

Got a call with no one speaking, so I’ve just blocked the number on my phone now.

I got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent, maybe from India, using the number 01607418088. He claimed he was calling on behalf of the Telephone Preference Service and asked if I was still getting spam calls. When I said it actually seemed like a spam call, he just brushed it off. Then he said the TPS now had stronger powers to block international numbers. After that, he asked me to verify my name and address. He even mentioned some supposed debit card I had registered with TPS that apparently expired in 2018 - which is nonsense because I never signed up. I told him, quite firmly, where he could shove it. Honestly, who do these people think they are?!

Got a call from an Indian lady asking about TPS calls, sounded like one of those fake TPS scams. Don’t share any personal info with them, just hang up straight away.

Got a call around 11 this morning from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from TPS. It was just like what others have described. Thankfully, I got suspicious since he kept asking about my card info! I ended the call, telling him I’d get in touch with my phone provider. I’m 66 and not always the best with spotting scams, so it’s been quite a lesson for me!

Got a call from this number around 11.50 this morning. Some bloke with an Asian accent asking if I’m signed up to the TPS and if I’d still be interested. I said, well, why bother calling if I’m already on it? He just hung up on me! These lot need to be stopped before they trick our older folks!

Got a call from a woman with an accent, thought she might be Indian, on 01607418088 claiming she was from the Telephone Preference Service. She asked if I was still getting nuisance calls (I’d just reported one to the TPS). I said it was too soon to say. She went on about how the TPS had more power now and could block international calls or something like that. Then she tried to get me to confirm my personal info and asked if I still lived at a certain address. She even gave me the wrong address and asked me to fix it. I told her to hold on a sec and she just hung up. Feels really dodgy.
