I was inquired about whether those pesky nuisance calls were still bothering me, and when I replied in the affirmative, they mentioned a new service designed to put a stop to the interruptions. When asked about my method of paying the phone bill, I clarified that I handle it differently and not by direct debit. The representative then requested the three-digit security code on the back of my Visa card. It strikes me as highly suspicious; it feels as though this company has somehow managed to acquire details of bank accounts, hence their eagerness to obtain that security number. My advice? Engage them in conversation for as long as possible and refrain from disclosing any personal information.

Had a total of four pesky calls yesterday (Thursday, the 30th of March) and another four today (Friday, the 31st). I chose not to pick up. It's rather irritating, to say the least!

Sounded legit enough, some bloke saying he was from Telephone Preference Management - supposed to stop those annoying international calls. Asked for my address and I’m sure he’d have asked for bank info if I'd kept chatting. Best just avoid answering and block that number if you can.

This number has been ringing me over and over again, the bloke sounds like he’s got an Indian accent and keeps saying my bank card info has run out and he wants my new details. He’s really pushy about it. I keep telling him to find an honest job instead.

Beware of this racket! They seem to possess some personal information but are after more. I've encountered two such calls; the second one ended abruptly when I let the caller know that I had already received a call from them the day before and was unwilling to share any details.

Got a ring from this number recently. Some Indian guy called Derek claiming he was with a call blocking company. He asked if I’d stopped getting nuisance calls and when I said yes, he started pushing me to give my bank details to “update their records.” He was really persistent, asking about it like five times! I kept refusing and told him no way. After about ten minutes of this, he said I’d be stuck with unwanted calls forever. I just said thanks and hung up. Seriously, don’t ever share your bank info with anyone calling from this number!

I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. She asked if I could verify that I was at the number I'd listed... I voiced my suspicions about it being a scam. She insisted, "No, I'm genuinely from the Telephone Preference Service." I then inquired why she was calling a business line. Suddenly, she hung up on me!

Received a rather bothersome call yesterday from some bloke named Brian, claiming to offer assistance with nuisance calls-how original! I told him that, indeed, I was being bothered by such calls, specifically his, and promptly hung up. I’m ex-directory and have my number registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I’m quite baffled how they managed to get hold of my details. I did recently switch broadband providers; could that be the culprit? Anyway, I’ll be blocking their number for good measure.

Got a call from 01607418088. A woman with an Asian accent claimed she was from some Telephone Call Blocking service and said they’d already added my number to stop annoying calls. I asked her who gave them permission to do that and told her if I wanted this service, I’d ask for it myself. She just cut the call right away.

This person called claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and read out our name and address. Then asked if we pay our phone bill by Direct Debit. She repeated the question a few times. Then she asked if it's true our credit card runs out in 2017? Next, she wanted to know if a cheque book was nearby - really pushy. After getting nothing from me, she hung up. My wife found it funny since I was out all night and I keep my card and cheque book safely locked up! It's quite sad that someone has to make a living doing this.

Got a call from an Indian lady about TPS, and I told her I already have that service, so no idea why they were calling me. She says it expired and I needed to renew it. I told her I did that last week over email and even pointed out that her number was from TPS. Then she suddenly said there’s a problem with my card details and they needed to verify them. I said fine, read out the details you’ve got and I’ll confirm if they’re right. She hung up straight away. I usually ignore cold calls, but never had one from TPS before. Just a heads up to be careful folks.

I received a call from an Asian gentleman named Bruce who was attempting to obtain my banking information. He alleged he was representing the Telephone Preference Management Services. This wasn't the first time he reached out, as he previously phoned me claiming to be from BT, insisting there were issues with my internet connection. However, when I mentioned that I don’t possess any internet service, computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, he abruptly disconnected the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Didn’t manage to answer the call fast enough. My blocker passed it through cos it showed up as a UK number, which was a bit annoying. Shame, I was actually looking forward to wasting the time of that nuisance and then hitting them with some proper rude and offensive stuff. Would be great if Spike Milligan gave me another ring!

I just had a call from this number, and it was exactly what everyone else has been saying! I told the caller I didn’t have the foggiest who she was and that I wouldn’t be sharing any details regarding my bank card. She simply wished me a pleasant day as I hung up! Best to avoid answering; it’s likely a scam!

Just like other folks have said here, I’ll be reporting these calls to the ICO too. I looked up the TPS and they confirm scams are out there and said they never ask for money, but I couldn’t find anywhere on their site to actually report the scammers. Got two calls in as many days - one from an Asian bloke and one from a woman. Both had pretty much the same script and got rude and annoyed when I questioned if it was legit. Ended the call before they could get a word in.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming she was from some call blocking service (I'm registered with TPS). She asked me to confirm my name and credit card expiry details. I said no, and she got a bit annoyed, pressing me again, asking if I had any direct debit payments. I told her I was hanging up and did just that. Seconds later, she rang back asking for the card expiry date once more. I refused again, told her not to ring me again, and ended the call.

He got pretty rude and didn’t back off, so I just hung up on him.

I receive calls two or three times a week from someone claiming to be from BT, and they always sound like they’re from India. It’s the same old routine about issues with my internet connection. When I mentioned that I pay my bill via direct debit, they didn’t say much, and it seemed to rattle them a bit before they eventually just ended the call. I’m posting this for my sister, as she doesn’t have internet access herself.

I've been getting a fair few calls from an Asian chap who seems to be getting rather pushy, claiming to represent the telephone preference service. Each time, he’s asking for a Mrs Seagrave. It’s quite clear these blokes are up to no good! After I cut them off mid-sentence, it feels like my line is still engaged or something-real nuisance! I can’t seem to shake off this phone interference either.

Today I got a call on my landline from a woman with a foreign accent. She implied that I was signed up for their call blocking service. The connection was awful and it was hard to make out what she was saying, but when she asked me to verify my credit card expiry date I said no. She got quite annoyed after that. I firmly told her I wouldn’t share that info and ended the call. Almost straight away she rang back again and asked for the expiry date again. I told her to stop calling me and hung up. She claimed to be calling from West London.

Make sure to report scam calls straight to the ICO. These scammers couldn't care less about posts on forums, but they get really annoyed when the ICO gets involved, and it only takes a couple of mins on their website. Your phone provider doesn’t really bother to help since they’re making money from selling caller ID and charging for call blocking services anyway.

Similar to earlier reports, I received a call from a woman claiming to be affiliated with The TPS, who was of Indian origin. To my dismay, she seemed to already have my name, address and postcode at her fingertips. Then came the rather alarming request for my credit card information. I felt the warning signs flare up! I promptly informed her that I refuse to disclose any personal information over the phone and mentioned that I would be researching her number online. Should anything seem suspicious, I'd be forwarding the details to the authorities. I then ended the call abruptly.

Got a call from an Asian lady asking for my husband by his name. Told her he wasn't home and asked if I could take a message. She said she'd ring back later. When I asked who she was, she muttered something about marketing and nuisance calls, but it was hard to catch. I just said alright and ended the call. Seeing the other comments now, it’s clear it was a scam, so I’m relieved I didn’t get caught up in it.

This number has called me like 3 times today, but whenever I pick up, there’s no one there. Reading the comments here makes me feel a bit better. Why can’t the ombudsman tell BT to shut down these kinds of lines and slap a big fine on them if they don’t? I reckon loads of these scam calls happen because BT just sells lines to anyone without checking. It’s high time BT got held responsible for this. Until that happens, these calls will just keep coming.

Inquired whether I was still receiving those bothersome calls, and when I confirmed that I indeed was, the lady on the other end assured me that it would cease starting tomorrow. Quite odd, don’t you think?

Got a call from this number yesterday but didn’t pick up as it looked unfamiliar. Then today they rang again, this time showing it as if it was from overseas with 044 at the beginning. Didn’t answer that either.

My father-in-law, who’s a ripe 94 years, has been receiving frequent phone calls from this number. Fortunately, he’s been out and about whenever they ring! Thankfully, it seems he’s not in possession of a bank card or even a bank account!

This bloke was proper rude when I didn't want to answer his questions. He hung up, then called me straight back! I put the phone down on him again. Seriously, someone needs to track him and get the law involved!

This chap got quite aggressive when I refused to share my banking information. I ended the call, but he rang me back, clearly fuming. He seemed fixated on how I settled a bill and demanded the last digits of my card for 'verification.' I promptly disconnected again.

He claimed to be ringing from the Telephone Preference Service and asked if I was still getting annoying calls. I said yes, and then he asked me to verify my postcode before demanding the expiry date on my debit card. I suspected it was a scam but asked why he needed the expiry date out of curiosity. He said it was to confirm my account security. Since I don't handle the phone bill, I asked why he was speaking to me instead of the person who pays it, and he started yelling at me to just give him the card details. I told him to shove off and ended the call.

01067418088 called me a few times today. I usually just let unknown numbers go to voicemail, so I didn’t bother answering. After seeing these reviews, I’m glad I didn’t because they seem pretty pushy. If it was something important, they’d have left a message. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences.

I've received an incessant barrage of calls from this number-over eight in just four hours! Each time, they enquired if I was Mrs. xxx. When I probed to find out who was asking, a foreign lady with an accent claimed she was conducting research for BT. It was at that moment my phone decided to conk out on me!

I had a rather peculiar phone call from this number earlier today. An individual with an Asian accent claimed he was stopping unwanted calls. Strangely enough, he was already aware of my name, address, and postcode. He went on to mention something about my card details nearing expiry. When I informed him that my husband handles the bills, he pressed for my cheque book information. Upon reiterating that my husband possessed that, he abruptly hung up. Quite the odd encounter, I must say!

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from TPS, asking if I’d been receiving nuisance calls. When I admitted I had, she asked me to verify my address. Then she pushed me to give the expiry date on my credit card. I wasn’t comfortable sharing that, so I said no. She kept insisting she wasn’t after sensitive info. When I still declined, she said she would report me to her supervisor. That’s when I ended the call.

Some annoying bloke with an Asian accent called asking for my name. I asked who was asking, and he snapped back saying if I couldn’t understand English. I told him I understand it better than him. Then he went on to ask if I was deaf, and I just replied no, but wanted to know who he was and what he wanted. He called me arrogant, but I said he was the one being rude and told him I’d report him to the ICO. He just hung up after that.

After reading these comments, I’ve reported it to the ICO since we're on the TPS list. I've warned my elderly parents too - it’s really scary how they seem to know so much about you!

Claimed his name was Mark. Requested that I verify my name and address - which he was evidently already aware of. He said he was working to eliminate unwanted calls. Then, bizarrely, he wanted me to check my cheque book and disclose what it stated. He insisted he wasn't selling anything, yet kept pressing for information on my cheque book. It was quite absurd. I firmly replied that my cheque book was none of his business and promptly ended the call.

If you’re on the TPS, make sure you report any actual live calls to the ICO, and for silent or dropped calls, report them to OFCOM. Spammers couldn’t care less about comments here but really freak out when they get reported to proper authorities like OFCOM or the ICO - takes like 5 mins tops. Also, if you ain’t signed up to the TPS yet, honestly, you’re just asking for it. Phone companies don’t give a toss either since they profit from selling caller ID and charging for blocking calls.

22nd March 2017, 9:41 in the morning - Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent, sounded very much like the one I got yesterday from a guy called 'Frank' claiming to be with Microsoft about some computer problem (total scam)! I asked this fella if he was 'Frank', but he said no, he's 'Jonathan'. I said if he's from Microsoft, I want to talk to 'Frank'! Then he just hung up on me. It's such a nuisance. Can someone legit please put an end to this rubbish?

I received a call from a rather questionable chap, presumably from India, using the number 01607418088, claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service. He enquired whether I was still receiving unwanted calls, which I found rather ironic coming from him. When I pointed this out, he brushed it off and insisted that the TPS had become quite effective at halting international nuisance calls. Then he had the audacity to ask me to verify my name and address. He claimed that his records showed a debit card linked to my seemingly nonexistent TPS account was due to expire in 2018, and requested the card details too. At that juncture, I firmly but "politely" told him to clear off. Who on earth are these individuals?!

Some bloke with an Asian accent claimed he was calling from TPS. He actually knew where I lived. He asked how I usually pay my phone bill, then wanted me to verify my debit card had expired back in 2017. When I asked why he needed that info, he said he was just double checking details we supposedly gave TPS before. I told him I don’t even have any cards, then he tried to get me to fetch my cheque book and give him details. That’s when I told him I was hanging up.

This number has called me three times in just 30 minutes. The first couple of calls had no noise at all and didn’t show any caller ID. The third time, there was silence for about three seconds, then a weird call centre buzzing sound for a second or two before going quiet again. That call showed the number as 01607418088. Glad I’m not older or easily worried, I can imagine how this would freak out the elderly.

What's the scam exactly? This number 01607418088 rang me a couple of times but I never picked up. Got a call from a woman with an accent, thought she might be Indian, on 01607418088 claiming she was from the Telephone Preference Service. She asked if I was still getting nuisance calls (I’d just reported one to the TPS). I said it was too soon to say. She went on about how the TPS had more power now and could block international calls or something like that. Then she tried to get me to confirm my personal info and asked if I still lived at a certain address. She even gave me the wrong address and asked me to fix it. I told her to hold on a sec and she just hung up. Feels really dodgy.

I received a call from a woman who sounded like she might be from India, using the number 01607418088. She claimed to represent the Telephone Preference Service and asked if I was still receiving unwanted calls. Given that I've just raised a complaint with the TPS about another one, I replied that it was a bit early to say. She then went on about how the TPS has become much more effective at blocking international calls, droning on and on. After that, she asked me to verify my information, even inquiring if I still resided at an address she mentioned, which was incorrect. I asked her to hold on for a moment, but she promptly hung up. Quite alarming, indeed!

Claimed to be calling from BT, they were. Wanted my bank details, which felt rather suspicious, if I’m honest. They quickly terminated the call when I declined to share any information. I've been inundated with a slew of similar calls from what seems like related numbers over the past few days. Quite concerning, really!
