I've been getting calls from this woman with an Asian accent over and over. Usually, I just tell her I’m not home and hang up. Occasionally, there’s complete silence on the line which feels really creepy. It’s honestly starting to feel like an invasion of my privacy. Got a call from someone overseas who somehow knew my name. He said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything but wanted to ask a few questions. Then he suddenly asked which company I have my TV with. I just hung up straight away!!

When you get calls like this, my advice is just hang up straight away; or you could say the person they’re after has either passed away or has relocated. If you can’t block the number yourself, get in touch with BT or your provider and ask about call blocking options. These callers are often overseas and don’t usually follow UK rules or the TPS. Another thing is to jot down the number and just ignore any future calls from it. Usually, they get bored and stop bothering eventually since it’s not worth their effort.

Got a call from 0160677279, the bloke had an Asian accent and said his name was John. He kept saying he wasn’t trying to sell us anything. My missus asked straight up who he was and what company he was representing, but he just hung up on us. It seemed pretty harmless and annoying at first, but then he mentioned my wife’s name, which is a bit creepy. Makes me think he’s got access to some kind of trading directory or personal info, which worries me quite a bit. Feels like someone you shouldn’t trust.
