I just picked up and stayed silent, didn’t say a word, and they ended the call after a couple of secs. I do that now whenever I get calls from unknown numbers and every time they hang up straight away. Blocked their number after this. Like other folks here, I got a call saying I'd bagged £100,000 on the postcode lottery, which I'd never even entered. They went on to mention my previous address, trying to make it sound legit. I told them that wasn't my current place, and when they asked for my new address, I just said "No." After that, they thanked me and ended the call.

Got a call today from some Indian call centre, the number looked like it was from Norwich but it was fake I reckon. They told me I’d won £100,000 in some Postcode lottery. Strange thing is, they actually knew my address, then out of nowhere asked me about my life insurance. I told them I was insured by Bhenchod bank (which is a rude word in Hindi) and then I just hung up on them.

I got a phone call from a woman who sounded Indian, with loads of noise in the background. I couldn’t really catch what she was saying clearly, but I think she said something like, “we always like to call our winners.” Felt off to me, probably some kind of scam.

Right at the start, they told me I’d bagged £10,000 on the Postcode Lottery (yeah, right!) before throwing out a few pretty harmless questions about my height, weight and age. Then they went on to ask if I had life insurance, with which company, how much I paid monthly, and what cover I had. I kept my replies deliberately vague. After that, they said I’d be entered into a draw backed by Legal & General.

My gut tells me if I’d been a bit more open, this would’ve quickly turned into a pitch trying to sell me Legal & General life cover (though I doubt Legal & General were actually involved or knew a thing about it!).

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the Postcode Lottery, which I’ve never entered, saying I’d bagged £1000. Heard loads of chatter from a busy call centre in the background. They already had my name and address, which got me curious, so I decided to keep them on the line for a bit. They asked some questions, first being “Who’s your life insurance with?” I said I don’t have one. They just said “Alright, thanks” and then ended the call.
