Supposedly Greenpeace. Total scam! Block!

Received a call around half six this evening. I didn’t know the number, so I chose to let it ring out.

Received a rather odd call – totally silent but the line was filled with a cacophony of clicking noises. Since I’ve made a donation to Greenpeace, it’s possible they, or perhaps a marketing firm, may have my number stored somewhere, possibly linked to a data breach as well.

Just received a call from someone claiming to be with Greenpeace, but they quickly mentioned it was a wrong number and then proceeded to block me. I've no clue who they are!

A rather eloquent chap rang up, requesting to have a word with my husband. He claimed that my partner had put his name down on a petition for Greenpeace, but I've got a good hunch that's not the case at all. What's more, he dialled my unlisted landline number. He mentioned he’d give us another ring shortly. Quite odd, if you ask me.

I cut the call after he claimed he was representing Greenpeace.

I recently received a phone call from someone claiming to represent Greenpeace, in relation to a petition I'd signed. It's possible that I could have provided my landline, but I honestly don't recall doing so.

I've successfully avoided picking up the phone all week, but these persistent callers just won't take a hint. It’s quite the nuisance, really!

I chose not to pick up the phone when that number flashed on my screen, but out of curiosity, I decided to do a bit of digging. Strangely enough, I found two different listings for it, yet both pointed to some sort of scam related to Greenpeace. Quite the coincidence, isn't it? It’ll be amusing to see if they try their luck and ring me from yet another number tomorrow. In the meantime, I reckon I'll just keep blocking those pesky numbers!

I received a call from this number but chose not to pick up since I didn't recognise it. They didn’t leave a message, and after seeing what others have said about them, I’ve now blocked the number. It’s frustrating, especially since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list and they still manage to get through.

Received a rather unpleasant call from this number. They were rather insistent on prying into my personal information, and when I declined to divulge anything, they promptly hung up. Blocked them without a second thought!

Claimed to be affiliated with Greenpeace... I ended the call.

I hung on the line expecting the person on the other end to introduce themselves, but they chose to keep mum. Eventually, I decided to terminate the call.

Extremely courteous and articulate in their communication. However, when I mentioned that I was unable to catch what they were saying, they abruptly terminated the conversation.

I’m in a rather poor state of health at the moment, and your nuisance call has disturbed my much-needed rest.

I didn't get any response, so I came here to investigate. I’ve been known to sign petitions with Greenpeace, so I might've easily been a target. If they claim to have obtained your number through a petition, don’t hesitate to ask, "Which petition are you referring to, and when did I actually sign it?"

I encountered an exceedingly persuasive individual discussing the aims of Greenpeace, but as the conversation unfolded, he eventually requested a £10 monthly contribution. I declined, of course! Just a word of caution: don’t divulge any personal information or bank details if you find yourself in a similar situation. I simply took it all in and ended the call.

I'm currently raising funds for Greenpeace, and I assure you, it's legit since I've collaborated with them in the past. It's all done via telephone fundraising. However, I must note that they don't always adhere to the Telephone Preference Service, which can be a bit dodgy.

I received a call from this number, and the voice sounded familiar. It had that distinct southern English, perhaps even Welsh, twang. This chap has phoned me previously asking for a lady. However, on this occasion, he was after someone named “Jack”. When I probed him about whether he’d reached out to me before, he insisted he hadn’t. Apparently, he claimed they were merely in search of Jack, calling on behalf of Greenpeace, and it seems Jack must have mistakenly provided my number. He mentioned that this Jack is a notable contributor to their cause. Quite the curious situation, if you ask me!

Received a call shortly before tea time. The caller hung up just as my answering machine kicked in. (I generally don't pick up from numbers I don't recognise.) It was quite vexing since I was expecting an important call from out of town. On top of that, my husband was also waiting for a ring from the doctor around the same time.

I received a call from an individual claiming to represent https://www.thirtyonefundraising.com/ on behalf of Greenpeace. They mentioned that they had obtained my information from a Greenpeace petition I had previously signed. They were attempting to secure a regular donation from me, but I felt uneasy about sharing my payment details over the phone. Fortunately, they respected my decision and ended the call.

Claimed to be representing Greenpeace, he was quite insistent about donations. When I declined his request, I decided to end the call swiftly.

I received a rather charming call from a young woman claiming to represent Greenpeace, inquiring if I’d be interested in getting some information via text message. I courteously turned her down and requested that she refrain from contacting me in the future. I couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for her, undertaking such a thankless role. I've since blocked the number.
