I've already put this number on my block list, but it keeps ringing anyway. They seem to switch it up between pretending to be from the RSPCA and some RAFBF scam. It’s mad how they get hold of your info from any place you’ve donated to, be it online or through the post. When I answered once, they claimed they were contacting me for Blind Veterans, which I’ve raised funds for before. Luckily, I know the real charity is in Wiltshire, so I wasn’t fooled. I guess I’ll have to try blocking them once more!

Yesterday, just before 6 in the evening, I got a call from a polite gentleman. He claimed I had put my name down on a Greenpeace petition a while back, though I couldn’t really recall it. Initially, he asked for £10 a month, then quickly dropped to £4. I asked if he could email me some details (figured he could if I genuinely signed something), but he said that wasn’t possible. I told him to ring me again today so I could have time to check if it was a scam. Thankfully, I waited since I’d never share bank details over the phone. He never called back.

So this guy started chatting about protecting the environment. I received a call from this number, and the voice sounded familiar. It had that distinct southern English, perhaps even Welsh, twang. This chap has phoned me previously asking for a lady. However, on this occasion, he was after someone named “Jack”. When I probed him about whether he’d reached out to me before, he insisted he hadn’t. Apparently, he claimed they were merely in search of Jack, calling on behalf of Greenpeace, and it seems Jack must have mistakenly provided my number. Received a missed call at 11:50 this morning. I looked up the number and came across various comments. I'm grateful to all who shared their thoughts. I've decided to block the number now.

I received a call from an individual claiming to represent https://www.thirtyonefundraising.com/ on behalf of Greenpeace. They mentioned that they had obtained my information from a Greenpeace petition I had previously signed. They were attempting to secure a regular donation from me, but I felt uneasy about sharing my payment details over the phone. Fortunately, they respected my decision and ended the call.

Really smooth bloke calling for greenpeace asking for my bank info, felt dodgy when he was fine with a tenner a month straight away without any chat, sounded fishy. Told him to drop me a letter first before I agree to anything.

Claimed to be representing Greenpeace, he was quite insistent about donations. When I declined his request, I decided to end the call swiftly.

A nice young woman, said she was from Greenpeace, gave me a ring to see if I wanted updates from them via text. I said no thank you fairly nicely and told her not to call back. Felt a bit sorry for her doing such a thankless job. Number’s blocked now.

Some bloke from Greenpeace called me saying I’d signed a petition and then went off on a foul-mouthed tirade when I told him I hadn’t. He just hung up after that. Quite odd, really.

This afternoon I got a call from 01603 851262 but I didn’t pick up as I didn’t recognise the number. I decided to look it up here and, glad I did, it turns out it’s a known scam. If they ring again, I’m just going to ignore it. Big thanks to this site for helping folks avoid these dodgy calls and spreading the word. Much appreciated!
