This number called me claiming to be from BT Open Reach, saying they’d noticed my internet was running slow. The man on the phone said my computer was sending harmful messages to a certain server and offered a fix, telling me to enter [#]m.support[###]o.6.o.6. I caught that the ‘m’ apparently meant Michael, and he specifically asked me to type the letter ‘o’ rather than the number zero. I wasn’t comfortable sharing anything with him, so I ended the call politely. I looked up the number - it’s a landline with a Monmouth area code.
