Got a call from someone with an Asian accent, said he was Steven from the security team at Visa and Mastercard. It was clearly a scam as he hung up straight away when I asked him what "telling the truth" actually meant. I seriously can’t get my head around why companies like BT, Openreach or even Ofcom let scammers piggyback on UK landlines. Surely once a landline is registered to a customer, no one else should be able to use it? The UK phone system feels way too open to these fraudsters.
