I keep getting calls from someone called “James” who says he’s my “local advisor”. He never lets you finish a sentence and keeps blabbing even after you’ve ended the call...

Got these calls from some bloke, either saying he's "Sam" or "Dan," and all he asks is if I own the property. Then just leaves a message and hangs up! It's always that same voice too. Honestly, I'm tempted to answer and give him a real mouthful.

Got loads of calls lately claiming they're from some council scheme offering help with insulation. Can't remember how many times they've rung in the past few months. At the start, it actually sounded like a real person on the phone, which was a bit different, but who knows if it was genuine. Doesn't matter anyway, I've been unlisted and on the do not call list for ages, yet the calls just keep coming.

I picked up and a woman said, “Hello, can you hear me?” I replied yeah, and then she told me her name was Jane and that she was some energy advisor from nearby or something like that. I quickly said, “No, you’re not, you’re a scammer,” and ended the call. Later I looked up the number and found it was from Carradale in Scotland, but I’m way down the other end of the country.

I’m a local energy adviser in Scotland. Was in a rush and didn’t want to keep him hanging, so I just ended the call.

They start off by asking "Are you able to hear me clearly?", which tricks you into replying "yes". What they do is record your answer and then use the voice clip in a bigger scam involving voice ID to get into bank accounts and stuff. Best thing is to just stay quiet, end the call, and block the number if possible. Don't be surprised if they ring back from another number though. Wonder if the police are actually doing anything about this?

This lady kept asking "are you there?" I heard her loud and clear but she said she couldn’t hear me at all. After a few tries she just said something like “sorry for the trouble, have a good one” and hung up. Seems like some kind of automated system might've been on her side or something.

Got a ring from a strange number with a weird code, so I let it go to my voicemail. Didn’t get any message, which honestly didn’t shock me after seeing all the reviews here. Really happy with this service, cheers!

Got a call from this number and it kicked off with "Good afternoon, can you hear me alright?" After recognising the same tired old script from loads of scammy calls before, I just hung up straight away. It said it was from somewhere in Scotland, but that’s gotta be dodgy. The voice sounded sketchy too, obviously just another con job. Bunch of absolute snakes running this rubbish scam for who knows how long.

Got another one of those dodgy calls today. I've gone ahead and blocked the number, but I’m certain they’ll just ring from a different one soon enough.

These energy advisers are complete liars, using tech to mask their true phone numbers and whereabouts. They keep ringing up over and over from all sorts of different numbers, so watch out. Absolute tossers, the lot of them.
