I got a call from some guy who said he was from a government department or something like that. He told me I’d overpaid VAT and said he wanted to sort out a refund. Oddly, he already knew my home address and postcode, but then asked for more personal details to “verify” me. When I wouldn’t give him my birth date, he just hung up on me. Felt pretty dodgy if you ask me.
