Some bloke rang me saying there was “an issue with my computer” that “happens when you surf the net, but it’s not a virus, so your antivirus won’t catch it.” Then he asked if I was in front of my PC, which I was. He told me to press some keys on the keyboard like “in” and something to the left, then said “now command.” Then asked if I was on Google. I told him I’m on a Mac, so no thanks, clearly a scam, and hung up. Ive had calls like these loads of times before. Usually I waste a bit more of their time, but I was busy today.

I got a call from a bloke with an Indian sounding accent claiming there were issues with my Windows and internet connection, similar to what others have mentioned. He was all over the place with his explanations, not really clear what the problem was. I told him if anything was wrong, I’d ring my internet provider myself. This guy kept pushing and even rang me from the number 01797 226543. I told him straight up not to ring again and then ended the call.

Got a call from some woman who sounded like her English wasn’t great, claimed she was IT support trying to fix my computer. Total scam, I don’t need any help and can sort my own tech problems anyway.

Got a call from a woman claiming to represent Microsoft, telling me my computer had some software problems that needed fixing right away. Total scam. They ask for access to your device and get you to download some tool, then claim they've detected issues and demand payment to sort it out. Don’t be fooled! I work in IT, and Microsoft never contacts users like that or sends anyone to do so.

Beware of this call, they said they were from Microsoft and that there was a problem with Office on my computer. They asked me to let them control my PC, but I refused. Absolutely don’t let these people in, it’s a total scam.
