Once more, the phone rang, but we didn’t manage to get to it in time before they hung up. It’s probably the same dodgy company as before. I’m quite certain it was the same number.

so this guy kept trying to set up an appointment for someone to visit me, but I told him now’s not a good time. then I asked if I could have his number to ring him back later and he just wouldn’t give it to me. I then said if you won’t share your number then I’m not interested, and he just went and hung up on me like that, which was really rude.

Received an unsolicited call from the 'Energy Saving Centre'-they had a rather strong Scottish brogue, which matched the Kinross area code perfectly. When I requested that they take my number off their list, the chap responded politely with an 'Of course, Sir'. Now we’ll have to wait and see if I’ve been added to their list of gullible folks or if they genuinely honour my request.

I’ve had this number ring me loads of times. Seems like it’s some sort of auto dialler that just cuts off if no one picks up right away. Most of the time, there’s no one at the other end anyway! On the rare chance I do get through, the person on the line is really nosy and quite aggressive. As soon as I say I’m not interested, they just drop the call without any sort of goodbye. Proper annoying and quite rude, really.

Got a call out of the blue from someone saying they weren’t trying to sell anything, but then started talking about grants for home improvements if you buy new windows. To me, that’s definitely sales talk. When I asked if they were from a government department, they said no. They claimed they wouldn’t pry into personal stuff, but then asked if I owned the house and how old my windows were. As soon as I began questioning them back, this polite-sounding young woman from Aberdeen just hung up. Not convinced at all and I’m registered with the TPS too - clearly not doing much good.

Received a rather curious call from this number earlier today (07/08/2015) at precisely 11:12 in the morning. The caller claimed to be affiliated with Development Scotland. They quizzed me on the duration of my double glazing installation and whether the doors had been fitted at the same time. In a moment of folly, I revealed my name when they prompted for it. Then, they sought confirmation of my status as a homeowner, hinting at some sort of government grant that I might qualify for. The chap assured me that he would ring back with more details, but alas, I've yet to hear from them again.
