Looks like the calls are coming from sector 7 and they’re definitely using a VoIP line. Classic scam stuff really. My tip? Ask loads of random questions - it's hilarious to listen to when they start getting flustered and lose their cool!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from EE, saying my contract was due for renewal. He couldn’t confirm my name though, which seemed dodgy. So, I kept him on the line for about 7 minutes, telling him he was scamming me the whole time. Then I asked if he was calling from London, since I know the area codes well, and he said no, must be using a VOIP number. When I pressed him, he claimed he was actually in Tokyo! I just carried on messing about, wasting his time - honestly, it was way more entertaining than just hanging up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Virgin Mobile saying they could sort me a 40% discount. Told them I already work for Virgin and get an 80% off, so no chance. Sounds like a proper scam to me, best just to block and ignore.

Had a call from someone claiming to be BT, asking me to confirm my account by giving them a PIN they said was sent by email. I double-checked with BT and found out they were attempting to get into my account by triggering a password reminder that actually sent a legit PIN email from BT. If I’d told them the PIN, they could’ve changed my password and got hold of all my personal info on the account. Luckily, the caller had a really bad line and a strong foreign accent, which made me suspicious enough not to fall for it.
