Same here as others have said. You’ve gotta ring OFCOM on 0300 123 3333 to make a complaint. They’ll sort it out by opening a case. The police don’t really care, BT just tries to sell you more phones, and the Telecom Ombudsman isn’t involved in this kinda thing. OFCOM’s your best bet. Don’t wait, get on it now.

I received my inaugural call from this number earlier today but chose not to answer the phone.

I’ve just put in a complaint with Offcom and honestly, they were super helpful and quick about it. I’d really recommend everyone else do it too - they have the power to fine these call centres and can even share info with the police so they can go after these scammers legally. BT can also block this number using their 'Choose to Refuse' feature, which is a bonus.

This morning, at around 7.31am, I got a call from 01560 483882. Then later, at 11.10am, the same number called me again but when I answered, there was complete silence, so I just hung up. Bit creepy if you ask me.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were from BT about some broadband issue. They were really pushy and rude, which made me suspicious straight away. Honestly, it’s surprising they didn’t hide their number - it seems a bit daft and makes me think this isn’t legit. Tried calling the number back but just ended up with voicemail. I’m definitely reporting it to the BT fraud department and reckon others should too.

Got a call early at about 6.45 am and it really startled me, as I thought it might be my 92-year-old mum in the sheltered housing nearby. Even though I’m ex-directory and don’t expect calls, they rang me again an hour later, at 7.45. The number showed up as from Moscow Kilmaurs, East Ayrshire. This kind of disturbance so early is just not on and it’s left me properly annoyed.

This number has been buzzing my phone constantly, sometimes as many as ten times daily. Whenever they realise I've got a call blocker like 'Truecall', they just hang up straight away. I’m convinced it’s scammers on the other end because proper callers usually leave a message and wait patiently, rather than being put off by screening. It really takes me back to how these same horrible people kept pestering my 88-year-old mum before she passed away last year. Honestly, the stress from those calls might have contributed to her decline - no joke.

Don't trust this number, it's definitely a scam so don't share any details. Someone called me claiming to be Elaine from "Windows technical support," telling me my PC had some issues. I figured I'd get the company's info to report them to the TPS. I asked nicely for help but wanted to know who they actually worked for first. She just kept saying "Windows technical support." Got a call from someone claiming to be from 'Windows' about some nasty files being downloaded through my Internet onto my PC. Decided to play along for a bit. Told him I had top-notch security that blocks any dodgy files. He argued that my security was useless because the files showed up even when my computer was off, and might still happen if I unplugged the Internet. When I mentioned I actually use a Mac, he insisted Windows gets alerts and can fix any computer, no matter what brand it was. Tried explaining Macs don't run Windows OS, but he just brushed me off. Then I pointed out that 'Windows' is just Microsoft’s trademark, not a helpdesk, and he said I clearly didn’t get it and promptly ended the call. Just another typical scammer wasting time.

Got a call earlier today from a number showing up as International, then switched to this one. The guy on the end had a really heavy Indian accent and when I asked him to spell his name, he just couldn’t manage it. Then he asked for a call reference and started firing off security questions, the usual stuff I get asked. There was a pause so I took the chance to blow a referee’s whistle into the phone. The call dropped straight away, probably to recover his hearing! Pretty sure this was a scam.

Over the past couple of days I’ve had 9 calls from this number. Yesterday, the caller claimed there were issues with my broadband from BT. I didn't feel comfortable giving them access to my computer.
