Got a call yesterday at 10:36, but my answerphone picked up first. The number showed as if from around here - 01556 - but I’m pretty sure it’d been cloned to make it look like a local call. No one talked directly; instead it was an automated message spliced together from bits of recordings. It said they were verifying suspicious credit card activity, mentioning things like Amazon purchases and an international money transfer. Really worrying because faking caller IDs like that can easily trick people into picking up.
