Received a call purporting to be from EE... definitely a scam!

After reading through the various remarks from others, I’ve decided to add this number (01555 222024 from Lanark) to my blocked list.

I chose not to pick up as my phone flagged the number and indicated a high likelihood of it being a scam.

My phone chimed with an incoming call, and as I glanced at the number, I couldn't shake a feeling of unease. Curiosity got the better of me, so I answered, yet remained silent on the line. Moments later, they hung up. Given that it’s a Bank Holiday, I figured it could only be friends or family reaching out—or perhaps a scammer. I’ve since added that number to my block list.

I picked up the call, but they just disconnected straight away.

I received a call from a number linked to Lanark, but I can’t say I recognise anyone from there.

I received a call from a number linked to Lanark, but it’s not stored in my contacts. They didn’t pick up when I answered and there was no message left on my voicemail either. Since I don’t have any acquaintances in Lanark, it’s fair to assume this could just be another scammer or nuisance caller. A legitimate caller would typically leave a message, wouldn’t they?

I missed a call just as I was about to pick up; they hung up before I could say hello.

I received a call from a bloke named David Parker, who was supposedly representing a mobile service provider. I made it clear that I wasn't keen on what he had to offer and promptly ended the conversation. I've also taken the step of blocking that number now.

Beware of this dodgy number! They purport to be from 3 Mobile, but it's all a ruse to coax you into purchasing an iPhone 13. Just avoid them!

Received a call on my mobile from someone whose number I didn’t recognise, so I chose to let it ring. They didn’t leave a voicemail or follow up with a text, which makes me think they probably had some dodgy intentions. To top it off, I don’t know a soul from Lanark!

A chap with a pronounced accent rang me up, insisting he was representing my mobile service provider.

Picked up the phone, but there was silence on the other end. The caller lingered for about a minute without uttering a word before abruptly hanging up. Quite strange, if you ask me!

They were saying they represented O2 and offering me a 50% discount because of the pandemic.

@ Some chap claimed I could nab a shiny new phone contract at a 30% discount and wanted to know if I preferred an iPhone or a Samsung. He mentioned it was a call from Scotland, but I’m certain it wasn’t genuine.

Just as I answered the phone, the caller vanished!

Received a call from 01555222015 promoting an unlimited data mobile plan priced at £35 a month. I mentioned that I was content with my existing contract, but they persisted in asking how much I pay currently and which provider I’m with. Quite intrusive, if you ask me!

Not sure who this number belongs to.

I received a call from a number based in Lanark, but I didn't pick up, so I'm in the dark about who it might have been.

I received a call from a chap sporting an exceedingly thick Indian accent. When I admitted I was having trouble grasping what he was saying, he rather rudely remarked, “Oh, can’t you decipher a British accent then?” Well, I shot back with a couple of choice British expressions—quite colourful, mind you—and promptly ended the call!

I recently encountered someone attempting to offload an iPhone 13 at a suspiciously low price. They falsely claimed that I had already purchased one and then inquired about the amount I had paid, insisting she could find me a better deal. It clearly reeked of a scam, so I decided to block the number. Best to steer clear, I reckon!

I received a call from someone claiming to be Dave Jones, supposedly from Carphone Warehouse. He seemed rather keen to check in on my well-being, which struck me as odd since I have no clue who he is. I told him as much, and yet he persistently reiterated that he was indeed Dave Jones from Carphone Warehouse, followed by another inquiry about how I was doing. Quite touching, really, but I never thought he’d be so interested in me! Honestly, his accent took me by surprise – not what I’d anticipated from a Dave Jones. Safe to say, I’m convinced this is a scam!

I picked up the call, but didn't utter a word. I use this tactic to steer clear of those automated calls, since your voice triggers the connection. The line fell silent in no time at all.

I received a call from someone identifying themselves as "Sam" from "Carphone Warehouse." Now, I’ve never come across an Indian individual named Sam before, and let's face it, Carphone Warehouse hasn’t been a thing for quite some time. Seriously, when on earth are the telecom companies going to take some accountability for all these scams happening right under their noses?

Received a call whilst I was at the hospital, completely unable to pick up. Did a little digging on this site and discovered it’s just another scam number. Can you believe it? This is actually the third dodgy call I’ve had today alone, and it’s barely midday! Honestly, these con artists are more tenacious than a swarm of flies.

Claimed to be calling from Phone Warehouse, but I've never come across that name before! So, I decided to end the call.

Received two calls from this number in quick succession, but I decided to let them ring out. I've now taken the step to block them entirely.

We started having a bit of a natter, but once I probed him about how he managed to get hold of my number, he hung up on me without a moment's hesitation. Clearly, it was a scam—can't quite remember if they hung up on me rather abruptly or not.

I had a rather amusing encounter with a chap named "Harry" who claimed he was aware of my status as a current customer, and that he could sort out a better deal on a mobile device for me. How delightful! I decided to have a bit of fun and told him I would hand over £100 if he could tell me what make my phone was and what the time was in his location. Unsurprisingly, he hung up pretty quickly. What a pity—it was entertaining while it continued! It’s obviously a scam, so steer clear of sharing any personal details with them.

Seemed like one of those call centre types; they cut me off the moment I picked up. I've since decided to block their number, so I won't have to deal with them any longer!

I didn’t get a response. Looking at the latest discussions surrounding this number, it seems they’ve been making a lot of phone calls en masse. No need to stress, just let it go and carry on.

I’ve been inundated with calls from various numbers, all seemingly from the same source. Each time, the person on the other end speaks with an Asian accent, claiming to be from a phone warehouse or hub. Whenever I politely request they take my information off their list in accordance with GDPR, they abruptly end the call. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

The moment I picked up, they disconnected. Then, they rang me again and did the exact same thing! Just another dodgy toll number scam, banking on the hope that you return their call.

01555 222 015 rang and then disconnected abruptly. I wouldn't bother returning the call unless you fancy some mischievous surprises—who knows what might come out of your receiver!

This seems to be a group involved in illegal activities.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from O2, and they had the final digits of my card, which made their claims seem quite credible! They informed me that I was entitled to an automatic 40% discount on my mobile phone plan. I acted as if I couldn’t hear them properly, and they eventually hung up. When they called back, I decided not to pick up. My bank reassured me that as long as I didn’t share any additional information, I should be fine. Nonetheless, it’s left me feeling a bit uneasy!

Claimed to be calling from "Phone Warehouse," but when I inquired about how they obtained my number, they went quiet. They were rather unhelpful when I pressed for details, so I decided to end the conversation.
