7 yearsMy elderly neighbour got a call from someone claiming to be a man and asked her to send £9600 to a certain bank account. She got really flustered and couldn’t even remember how the convo began properly. Apparently, the voice didn’t have a noticeable foreign accent. What’s worse, about 40 minutes later she had another call from a different number, pestering her why she hadn’t made the transfer yet. She ended up going straight to her bank to make sure everything was safe. I only found out about this when I dropped by to see how she was doing.7 yearsSome bloke rang my elderly mum saying there was a dodgy payment of £600 sent abroad from her bank. He said they were looking into some bank staff for fraud. The guy spoke with an Asian accent and kept handing the call over to other scammers. My mum was told to keep quiet about it cause it was all part of an “investigation”. Watch out for this one, sounds proper dodgy.7 yearsGot a call from a real person, not some automated voice, saying there was a dodgy transaction on my bank card. They said they needed to verify it. Definitely some sort of phishing scam.7 years@ got a call from a woman with an accent that sounded foreign. she claimed there’d been a £600 transaction on my account and wanted to check it was me. i almost fell for it and even asked who the payment was made to, she gave some fake name. then she tried to get my card details but luckily i cut the call before giving anything away. knew straight away it was a scam.7 yearsthis number rang my nan and told her she had to move £9000 to another account, saying it was part of some santander probe and she shouldn’t mention it to anyone, not even the bank. thankfully, i stopped her just as she was about to head to the bank. we’ve already informed the cops about it.Santander7 yearsReceived a dubious call from a gentleman sporting an exceedingly thick African accent, which was quite difficult to decipher. He told them he'd check with the bank, but they said the bank was shut, even though it wasn't. Luckily, my son was quick and hung up on them.7 yearsgot a call from some bloke claiming to be with visa, saying someone charged me £600. told him where to stick it right away.Visa7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Mastercard about an issue with a payment.
