Got a call from someone who sounded really Indian, claiming they're from Carphone Warehouse offering a special deal. Since I never bought my phone there, I reckon it was just a cold call and probably a scam.

Got a call from this number on Saturday morning, 14th May at around 9.30. The person on the other end was pretty pushy and quite rude, claiming it was about my national insurance. I didn’t buy it at all and just ended the call. Honestly, if there really was a problem with my national insurance, they’d have sent a letter, not called me up on a weekend so early. I’m glad I didn’t waste more time on it.

From what I’ve read in other reviews, it seems like these calls are just to see if someone picks up, so best not to respond and just block the number. If you do pick up, you’re probably signalling you’re an easy target for more spam calls in the future.

Some bloke called saying he was with some phone provider - couldn’t catch which one exactly. He kept going on about switching me over and buying out my contract, all unlimited stuff and keeping my number for £20 a month. Kept saying “ma’am, hello?” like he was desperate or summat. Proper pushy, maybe trying to scam or just make a sale. I asked straight up if he was a scammer, and he kept insisting, “No ma’am, no scanner, please ma’am.” Got fed up and told him to jog on before hanging up.

Some bloke rang me up and started off by calling me by my own name, which was a bit odd. I kept asking who it was, and he eventually said his name was ‘Vim’. Then he went on about how wonderful I was, like some cheesy chat up line or something. I just kept asking what he wanted but didn’t give him any details. He got louder and started being even more pushy with the compliments, which was proper strange. In the end, I told him to jog on and hung up 😂 No clue what the whole thing was about but I’ve blocked the number now!
