Just like the others said, I got a call about some insurance I supposedly deferred for two years and now I have to pay up. The guy was really loud and rude. I reported it to trading standards because quite a few folks have fallen for this scam and lost money. I think they're starting some legal action against them. Best advice - don’t pick up or ring back. Maybe check online here or get in touch with action call to be safe.

Today in Kent I received a call from 01544 248388. The bloke on the line was some very pushy Irish guy claiming my missus had signed up for insurance on our washing machine two years ago, and now I supposedly owed money. He warned me if I tried cancelling, there’d be extra fees and admin costs. I told him it was complete nonsense, but he kept going, even threatening legal action and spinning some sob story about pandemic job cuts and customers not paying. Felt like a proper threatening scam. I’m pretty sure it’s dodgy, so I just told him I’m a solicitor and to take his best shot.

Got a call from someone claiming to be National Appliance Care, saying I had insurance on my washing machine - which I don’t, at all. To ‘prove’ it, the bloke insisted he’d share the password tied to my account. Thing is, the only place I’ve used that ‘password’ before was with TalkTalk, and they had a massive data breach a while back. I’ve actually switched providers since then. I just told the caller it was a scam and hung up before it got any worse - better safe than sorry, especially after hearing that some folks ended up revealing bank details.

I’ve had some experience with this firm before. They seemed to know my password and even my address, which is a bit concerning. I hardly share my password with anyone unless I’m ringing them directly, so when they revealed it to me, I thought they might be legitimate. I also recall having previous interactions with them, and I’ve got Sky Talkshield activated on my phone too.

Yesterday my wife got a call from someone claiming her washing machine insurance was overdue. They said she’d signed up for some kind of deferred payment plan for two years and now owed £185. They even had her old bank info and password! When she asked them to send it all in writing, they suddenly switched up their story. Oddly enough, all our appliances have been registered under my name for the past seven years. Definitely a massive con and really should be reported. I’m planning to get in touch with the police about it today.

Got a call from some pushy guy claiming I owed £180 for renewing a washing machine insurance my mum supposedly had. Thing is, she never even signed up for any cover before! I was at a mate's house who’s getting on a bit when the phone rang. Some bloke on the other end was telling them they owed loads on some insurance thing. Proper pushy, kept insisting they pay up with a card straight away. They didn’t even know what kind of washing machine it was supposedly about. I had a bad feeling and thought it was a con. I've got a cover for my washing machine and television, but that’s a load of rubbish! The bloke insisted I was attempting to wriggle out of it, which is utterly ridiculous! I only have dealings with one particular company, and it certainly isn’t theirs! I made it clear that I believed his intentions were less than honest. Just a heads-up for everyone! Stay vigilant!

Got a call from some guy named Stuart, who was really pushy and quite rude. He kept telling us we had insurance with his company, which we definitely don’t. Most calls like that are easy to end, but not this one - he even claimed he knew our password! My partner got annoyed and told him we don’t have any insurance with them, and then this Stuart bloke threatened to take us to court. This happened in Ipswich, Suffolk. Such an unpleasant experience!

I got a call off a guy named Tony from National Appliance Care, he was going on about insurance for my washing machine, which I haven’t signed up for at all. This was the second time I got this call, the first one was yesterday from the number 01268856157 (which seems to be the cover team’s direct line), and they also gave a helpline 01702662333. Pretty sure it’s a scam - really dodgy, wouldn’t suggest listening to him past telling him to stop. I’m certain this whole thing is a con.

I've gotten calls from this number a few times claiming we've signed up for a 5-year white goods insurance, with the first couple of years supposedly free. When I told them we had no interest, the guy with an accent snapped back, saying it was cheeky to enjoy two free years and then back out when payments start. I just told him their so-called coverage was rubbish and ended the call. Not sure if they'll be ringing back.

Something I always do when I report a dodgy number - I've started stashing away her cards, cheque book, and all those bits with her bank info so she doesn’t accidentally give it out and end up getting scammed.
