Got a call from a lady with a strong accent and loads of background noise, telling me I’d been picked for some mobile phone promotion [###]. When I asked how she’d even got hold of my work number (which is strictly for clients), she just kept repeating the company name and saying I was chosen. She told me to type in their website, but Google blocked it straight away. Had to ask her several times to take my number off their list, but all she did was keep saying the same thing over and over. Once I mentioned data protection laws and threatened to report her, she just hung up on me.

I received a call from an Indian lady who appeared to be in an office setting, seemingly situated overseas. She claimed to represent Carphone Warehouse and was eager to discuss a fantastic promotion that was supposedly tailored just for me. I have no doubt that this is a scam.
