Got a robo call warning me my bank card was being used overseas for some dodgy transactions. They told me to ring them up to stop it and get a refund. Luckily, I saw something about this sort of scam on the BBC's Scam Interceptors, so I just hung up. It's a common scam now and I've blocked the number.

Early on Monday 11th December, my phone went off and an automated message came through claiming someone had withdrawn £300 from my bank related to Amazon, plus another £1000 was about to be taken out. When I looked at my bank statement later, I saw some transactions I hadn’t authorised. It turned out the call was from the number 01536724516, which apparently starts with 0842.
