Appreciate all the input, folks. EON is insisting that I have an outstanding balance with them. They completely botched my transition to a different provider and, three months later, they started bombarding me with bills that were based on rough estimations! I've tried numerous times to get a hold of someone at EON - even resorted to sending a letter via registered post - yet they continue to brandish threats about involving a debt collection agency. Tomorrow marks three weeks since I lodged a formal complaint, and since I’ve had no response, I now have grounds to escalate this to Ofgem. That’s exactly what I plan to do.

Absolutely appalling experience with E.ON! I’d advise steering clear of them like the plague. They’re quick to send debt collectors your way, even when you’ve come to an arrangement to settle what you owe. Got a call from someone overseas, couldn't make out what they was saying. Mentioned something about EON, I told them I dont work with EON anymore and dont owe anything. They just hung up straight away. After that, I’ve had loads of calls where no one talks when I pick up. Proper annoying now.

Got a call from a company named SIGMA RED about the whole E.ON mess just before Xmas 2020 when they took out two payments in the same month. I stopped the direct debit with E.ON and decided to pay them myself, which they said was fine. After that, SIGMA RED started sending letters and pestering me. I’m gonna keep paying E.ON directly. Just keep firm - it was E.ON who messed up the deal, not you.

They claimed they were ringing from E.on. I told them I only deal with the person themselves. Then they called again and asked if they could speak to Mrs ####### (first name). I said, “Who’s this?” They repeated it and I asked what my real name was. They said Mrs ######## #########. I told them that’s not right. Then they asked if I’d like them to call me Mrs ####### (surname) instead. I said if you’re going to call me, at least get my name right. Then they just hung up!
