Today I got a phone call from 08971 562195 claiming to be BT Openreach, saying my broadband was going to be cut off for 25 days starting tomorrow. I ended the call straight away but then the number 01527 102173 rang me back. It was the same bloke, with an Indian accent, sounding really annoyed that I’d hung up. He went on about the call being recorded and all sorts. I told him I’d call BT myself to check, then hung up once more. I later got in touch with BT online and they told me they hadn’t tried to reach me at all, so it was clearly a scam.
