I got a call from someone claiming to be with the insurance bureau or something similar, asking about an accident from November. They already had my full name and DOB. Since I had actually been in an accident then, I tried to get more details out of them. They mentioned they were verifying if the insurance provider had given me any freebies. But the moment I told them I wasn't actually in the vehicle, they just ended the call. Feels like it was one of those refund scams to me.

The person on the other end greeted me with a name that wasn’t mine right off the bat, which immediately raised a red flag. It feels rather fishy to me; I suspect it might have been an attempt at a scam. They were going on about some ridiculous story concerning a supposed car crash I’d been involved in, claiming I was eligible for some sort of compensation. Quite absurd, really!

Got a call from some number claiming to be from Eurosomething, saying I had been in an accident. When I asked them to tell me exactly where they were calling from, they just ended the call. Blocked straight away.

Got a call from this number yesterday, didn’t pick up. Today I answered and the caller said there was a direct debit arranged in Birmingham and asked if it was me. I said no and didn't get into any details. I rang NatWest myself and they said it was definitely a scam. Best to not answer if you get a call from this number.

I referred a friend to Reeds Rains for a mortgage and later got a call telling me it went through. They mentioned they’d be sending me some Amazon gift cards as thanks for the referral. Pretty decent of them!
