I had a phone call from someone named “Alex,” an individual from South Africa, who appeared to possess quite an extensive understanding of a car accident I had six months ago. He had attempted to reach me multiple times, and when I finally picked up, he was remarkably insistent that I was owed some compensation and wanted to connect me with a solicitor. I told him I wasn't keen on that idea. A few days later, he rang me again, still very pushy. Once more, I clarified that I didn’t wish to pursue it, and he claimed to be affiliated with “the traffic bureau,” supposedly representing the ABI.

They mentioned something about it being a legal requirement for me to engage in the conversation. When I requested them to send over the details via email, they abruptly ended the call. Quite strange, isn't it?

I received a call from 01525 608950 today - a chap from South Africa purporting to represent some insurance authority. There was a bizarre delay before I was connected, and when he asked for my name, I declined to provide it until I had more information from him. He introduced himself as Mark. I wouldn't give him any of the details he was after, even though he insisted he was looking at a file containing my date of birth and other personal stuff. Given that I've been inundated with unsolicited calls since my recent car accident, I decided to cut the conversation short. I attempted to ring the number back, but it simply played some elevator music without mentioning any company name whatsoever. I think it’s safe to label this one as a SCAM.
