This number has been ringing me on the 10th, 16th and 17th of March this year. Every time, they either just drop the call or ask for my name before hanging up straight away. Since it’s a UK number, why doesn’t BT just block it? Even better, they could try to find an address for it and give it to the police so these annoying calls can be stopped.

Today, at around 2:10pm on the 16th of March 2017, I got a call from this number. The woman on the other end sounded quite convincing and puzzled me by seeming to know loads of details about me already. Nearly got taken in by her, I must admit, guess I had a bit of a lapse in judgement. Eventually, I told her I’d ring up my provider to check and then ended the call. From now on, I think I’m just going to let it go straight to voicemail. To be on the safe side, I’m also planning to switch my card shortly.

I got a ring from some con artists around 9 in the morning, a woman with an Asian accent talking about blocking calls. As soon as she began asking for my banking info, I threw them a curveball and asked her to tell me who my phone provider was. She answered BT, so I went along and gave her fake bank details: sort code 11-22-33 and card number 1111 2222 3333 4444. She claimed those were fake, but I told her they were as genuine as the dodgy call blocking she was trying to convince me of. She ended up hanging up on me.

Some bloke from overseas rang me up saying I’d got a call blocking phone or something, and he even rattled off my name and address right away. Then he tried to get me to look at my debit card ‘cos apparently it expired in 2018. I told him I’m not giving out card info over the phone and just ended the call. When a strange number rings me up, I usually answer but don't say a word. They tend to hang up pretty fast, just like with this one today. Every so often, I get calls from people pretending to be from Microsoft, trying to fix issues on my computer if I follow their instructions. The best way to handle them, besides just hanging up, is to ask for your computer's IP address. That’s a unique identifier your machine has, and these scammers won’t have a clue about it. That usually makes them disappear.

Today, Tuesday 21st February 2017 at 12:08pm, I got a call from 01524 644444. A man with an Indian accent spoke to me, knew both my name and address, and requested my debit card info to "verify" my identity for activating a nuisance call-blocking service. The way he spoke and his pushiness reminded me of a call I received months ago, where a similar bloke with an Asian accent tried to get remote access to my computer, insisting it had a problem: "Do it now on your computer."

He was pushing hard for me to share some bank debit card details, supposedly to confirm who I was so he could set up a call blocking service on my phone. The way he spoke and his accent really took me back to another call I had about a year ago. Got another call from this number JUST now!! They wanted to talk to the owner of the phone line. The lady claimed she was from "Secure Calls" and asked if I’d been getting annoying calls. I told her yes. Then they said they could put a stop to them for a one-time payment of £79. My elderly sister in law, she's around 86, has been receiving calls from the same number quite often. She once gave out her card information to the caller, but luckily she spotted the mistake quickly and contacted her bank straight away. Despite that, the calls haven't stopped and it's got her nervous about picking up the phone now. I'd suggest just telling him off loudly!

Got a call from this number at about 6.25 pm today. Clearly some sort of scam, and when I mentioned I’d be reporting them to OFCOM, they started threatening to ring me non stop, day and night. I told them to get lost! Then, just three minutes later they called back again. Needless to say, I cut them off even more quickly the second time!

Got a ring from an 01526 number earlier today. They were aware I’ve got a call blocking service on, then asked me to verify my name and address which they actually already had. He then asked if we pay by direct debit and said my bank card had expired, asking for the new card info. When I questioned why he needed that, the line just cut off.

Just got a call from 01524 644444 - seems like others have had the same. Some guy with an Asian accent said he was from my call blocking team (mind you, he didn't mention any firm or company - straight away I knew it was dodgy!). He asked if I get annoying calls - I said "who doesn't?". Then he claimed they’re sorting out all my nuisance calls. I reckon he was gonna try and grab some personal info, so I just said "thanks for the update. Goodbye" and hung up.

Yesterday, my grandma got a call from these lot on 02336852104 trying to sell her some call blocking thing, which she flat out refused. Today, they rang again on this number, claiming she'd agreed and warned they’d be sending someone round to fit the device, costing £80 one-off. She was really worried because they had her full name and address. Luckily, she didn't hand over any card details.

I got a call from a bloke with an Indian sub continent accent who was speaking in quite poor English, saying something like ‘you need to send me £100 for the call barring…’. Since I’ve had loads of dodgy calls from India about this kind of thing, all trying to scam my card info, I just told him to jog on. Seems like they’re all aware we’re signed up to the TPS these days.

I got a call from someone who sounded asian, talking like my elderly folks were involved. He claimed he’d chatted with them the day before and insisted it wasn’t some annoying sales call. I struggled to catch what he was saying, but he mentioned something like 08/17. I asked what that was about, and he said it was the last four digits of my parents' bank, which thankfully it wasn't. I told him I wasn’t bothered and hope they don’t bother us again. I reckon it was just a sneaky way to fish for info about their account.

Got a call from this number, a lady answered with just 'Hello'. I said 'Hello' back, then suddenly the line just went silent!
