I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, saying he was from Openreach and that my internet was running slow. He said he could sort it out for me. But when I checked the number using 1471, it turned out to be linked to Homby, a tiny village around 7 miles away from where I live near Lancaster. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Openreach, saying they could assist with my sluggish broadband connection. The chap on the line had a distinct Indian accent and seemed to be working from a call centre abroad. However, when I dialled 1471, the number traced back to Hornby, a quaint village not far from Lancaster, roughly seven miles from my location. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
