I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, saying he was from Openreach and that my internet was running slow. He said he could sort it out for me. But when I checked the number using 1471, it turned out to be linked to Homby, a tiny village around 7 miles away from where I live near Lancaster. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Openreach about my slow internet and wanted to sort it out. It was actually some guy with an Indian accent working from a call centre somewhere abroad. When I did the 1471 check, the number showed up as Hornby, near Lancaster, which is this tiny village just a few miles from where I live. Felt really fishy to me.
