It seems like all these dodgy car insurance calls are coming from Liverpool with the 0151 code or Manchester at 0161. Whenever they address me by name, I like to throw on a mock Chinese accent and ask whether they’ve placed an order for chop suey or some chow mein delivery. Quite the laugh, I tell you!

Got calls from om mobile a couple times today but didn’t pick up. My numbers are on the TPS list so I shouldn’t be getting cold calls like this. It’s proper annoying, especially since I’ve been getting loads of calls from all sorts of places recently. Whenever I do pick up, they’re always going on about “some accident that happened”. I’m just blocking and reporting every one. The frustrating bit is they keep switching numbers, so blocking one just means they ring from another. Still, I’ll keep blocking them!

Got a call about a supposed recent car accident claim and they rushed to say it wasn’t a sales call. Total scam if you ask me! I haven’t been in any accident for over two years so they were clearly just fishing for info. I hung up straight away. I’m flagging this as risky since the whole “recent accident” thing was just a lie.

I had a call today from a young chap on my mobile, insisting he needed to chat with my husband about some supposed accident. The twist? My husband was in the vehicle, completely unaware of any mishap. He made a light-hearted quip, suggesting perhaps the caller had been in an accident himself, if I recall correctly. However, the lad didn't take it well and threatened us with relentless calls and said he'd be sharing my number with other firms. Just to clarify, this phone is registered in my name, and has no link to my husband’s affairs whatsoever. Since that first call, I've already had three more today. As you can imagine, I’m rather irritated by the whole situation!

Got a ring from this number today, some bloke with a Scouse accent telling me there’s cash waiting because of a car crash I was in. Played along saying I was thrilled since my wife’s pregnancy was a bit of an accident too. He asked what I meant, so I said she got pregnant after a bit of fun in the back of a rental car over in Lanzarote. He told me to get a life, and I shot back with ‘why dont you get a proper job?’ Felt like I was Brad Pitt or summat!

I received a call from someone claiming to be associated with a company that promised to help me secure compensation following a car accident. I explained that I hadn't actually experienced an accident but rather had merely filed a claim for damage caused when a car door unexpectedly swung open onto mine. I requested that he delete my information from their records. He was very courteous and assured me that he would take care of it.

When I asked for details like when and where it happened, he told me I was wasting his time if I hadn’t had an accident and then just hung up on me. Proper thick scouse accent on the bloke - he wanted to speak to my husband by name. I refused to give any info, and when I asked what the call was about, he said he could only talk to my husband legally. I joked if it was about an accident, and he said yes. I then asked where he found my number, and he claimed it was from ‘a national database.’ Told him not to ring again and just ended the call.

This bloke Andrew ringing from this number says he's a trained call centre worker. When I told him I'm a lawyer and that cold calling is a no-no, he turned really rude and wouldn’t tell me the company he’s with. Proper pushy and rough when I questioned him. Don’t hand over your info to these sorts, no matter who they claim to be. If you’ve been in an accident, make sure to get a proper personal injury solicitor to sort it!

I played along and he claimed there was £3000 waiting for me, all I had to do was give my bank details for the transfer. I gave him fake info and he went over it a few times before I told him he was obviously a scammer. He then told me people like me give scammers a bad rep, told me to get a life, and hung up. I’ve blocked the number now. The name he used for me was totally wrong and the address he had was more than 1100 miles away too, lol.
