Got a call about cavity wall insulation that was installed a few years ago, before we moved in. They said some of the materials used in the past have been found ineffective, so now they want to send an engineer round to check for damp or any dodgy spots in the house. They claimed all the work is covered by the government, so it won’t cost me anything. I told them to ring back when my husband’s home, since he’s a builder and can ask the right questions. Feels a bit fishy though. Don’t really get why they asked for my DOB either - what’s that got to do with anything? Bit strange.

An agent visited my home and only copied my documents, no originals were taken. I got the review done within 2 weeks with a clear, detailed report which was pretty helpful. I didn’t have to pay anything at all, so I honestly don’t understand the bad remarks about it being a scam since I wasn’t scammed in any way.

Guys, before you bash companies, try to understand why they're calling. I used the service with Pension Safe and they actually check government advice and help with pension savings to prevent proper scammers from ripping people off. The pension firms and financial advisers they team up with are all regulated and approved by the FCA. So seriously, do some research before you go calling these companies scammers.

They rang me, I picked up, but no one said a word. It's one of those automatic diallers where the fastest person to pick up gets through. Nowadays, I always search the number online and block it after having a bit of fun. The funniest trick is when you know it’s just a nuisance call, tell them you need to put them on hold for a sec. It really confuses them! Stay safe and never share your personal info. Remember, you’re the one in charge, so don’t let them wind you up.

Some bloke from Liverpool called, said his name was Michael and was chatting about my pension being active or somethin'. Never heard of it! I told him I don't have one, and he goes, "No problem, I'll fix it in the system." Ended the call by telling him "I DON'T NEED A PENSION, I'M FOREVER YOUNG." Someone called saying it was about my pension review for a Government scheme. I told them straight up I wouldn’t share any personal info, so they said they’d put me through to their supervisor. I told them I was on my lunch and couldn’t talk properly. Then they asked when would be a better time for the supervisor to call, and I said after 5pm. Still no call from them. The person on the phone had an Indian accent, like someone working in a call centre, and he even knew my first name. I ended the call quick and added them to my growing blocked list, which is now over 100 numbers long. Seriously, try to keep your mobile number off the internet whenever you can.
