I had an encounter with a rather courteous gentleman claiming to represent a drainage firm, insisting that there was an unpaid balance on an account. This is utterly untrue. He even called back to assert that they possessed the account information and would be retrieving the funds independently. Yet again, this is simply not the case. They were trying to pressure my Mum into 'verifying' that her bank information was accurate. What's more perplexing is that they seemed to have my late father's details, who has been gone for several years now. This is definitely a scam - no doubt about it!
