Got a call saying my business has “active subscriptions” but that’s just not true. I told them it wasn’t possible since I’m the only person who manages that stuff and we never signed up for anything. They kept insisting we did though, which felt really dodgy. Seems like a classic scam to me.

This number has been ringing me about half a dozen times over the past week. I contacted BT to complain and they basically tried to push their call blocker on me for nearly £40. Honestly, I don’t know what’s more frustrating - the callers themselves or BT trying to make a quick buck! You’d think if BT can identify these annoying calls, they would just block them for you. I’ve even signed up to the telephone preference service but the calls just keep coming. Proper annoying.

It seems that this phone number is definitely associated with either an individual or a business. I'm perplexed as to why the authorities don't impose a hefty £10,000 penalty for each unsolicited call, particularly since these annoying marketing calls bombard you relentlessly, sometimes up to ten times daily! Wouldn't it make sense for local telephone exchanges to block these nuisance calls? After all, with modern digital systems in place, the originating number should be easily traceable by your exchange, shouldn't it?

This bloke claims to be Mike (and let’s be real, that accent is a bit dodgy!). He’s been ringing my mum’s phone incessantly, hitting her up five times today alone, not to mention his attempt yesterday. I decided to ring 101 to report the nuisance. I was quite taken aback to discover that I could search the number online and find a whole bunch of comments from others in the same boat. It seems he’s likely fishing for info from the electoral roll. When you register to vote, you’re given the chance to opt out of the edited register, which is then sold off to marketing firms. If you choose to opt out, your personal info remains private. Even if you’ve already signed up to vote in May, whether online or by post, it’s worth contacting your local election office to ensure you’ve opted out. Blimey, this is something that definitely ought to be shared on Facebook!

Today alone, I've received a staggering eight calls from this number! After the most recent one, I finally lost my patience and told them I’d report their antics. The chap on the line had the audacity to suggest that if I were to engage and answer his questions, he would cease his persistent calls. It’s quite clear - they seem to imply that cooperation on my part would guarantee my peace. Honestly, it’s utterly infuriating! To top it off, when I attempted to ring them back, I was greeted with a message stating that the number doesn’t exist. How fishy is that?

Unfortunately, I’ve been getting these calls more and more often. Each time, nobody seems to be at the other end. I can’t help but wonder what these individuals hope to achieve. Are they perhaps snooping around, using the phone directory to gather details about my address?
