I got a call from this number claiming to be from BT. They told me our internet speed was all over the place and said they needed to fix our router. They asked me to run a speed test, saying the download speed was fine but the upload was too slow. Then they told me to find and download some software called AnyDesk, saying they needed it to help sort things out. That’s when I realised it was dodgy and hung up straight away. The caller sounded pretty convincing, especially since the number looked local.
