I received a call from this number at 7 in the morning. There was a cacophony of noise in the background, yet no one bothered to say anything when I picked up, prompting me to hang up. Upon checking online, I've come across various remarks about this number, and it's evident that it's associated with scammers. Despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I'm inundated with calls like this.

Received a call on Monday from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there were improper activities happening on my computer. They requested that I turn my device on so they could fix the issue. I informed them that my computer was functioning perfectly well and promptly ended the call. Then, on Tuesday, they tried to contact me again; I simply said the problem had already been resolved and hung up. I'm signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, but evidently, that doesn't seem to deter them. Cheers, Charles Palmer.

Received a call bright and early at 7:30 this morning from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that my computer required immediate attention. He urged me to switch it on right away! I firmly told him not to bother me again, but he kept insisting, practically yelling at me to power it up. I ended up snapping at him to just leave me alone and hung up. It’s quite clear this is nothing but a scam!

I got a call on my landline from a woman who sounded Asian, saying she was calling from Microsoft because my computer had been compromised. She wanted me to follow some steps with her. I told her I was a bit under the weather and needed a break for a drink. Being ex-IT, I could tell straight away it was a scam. She's called a couple more times, but I've ignored them. It's odd they're using a UK number now. Surely BT should be able to find out who owns that number.

I had a rather unsettling experience with a chap who purports to be from Microsoft. He insisted that my computer had been sending out error messages and warning signals. According to him, a hacker had somehow managed to infiltrate my system without my awareness. He wanted to take control of my computer to demonstrate the issues he was claiming. However, when I quizzed him on some straightforward details about the call, he struggled to provide satisfactory answers and promptly disconnected. It certainly feels like a scam, so I advise everyone to steer clear of letting such individuals access their machines or visiting any links they might suggest.

I've received two calls over the last couple of days, yet they left no voicemail. It's utterly frustrating how our government can't seem to tackle these annoying nuisances.

Got a call from someone who sounded South Asian, said they were from Microsoft.

It's the same old story - typical South Asian con artists with a dodgy VOIP setup, pretending to represent Microsoft. That number from Liverpool's a complete ruse. Honestly, they'd be wiser to try and find legitimate work instead of pulling these stunts. - Caller: A scammer with a South Asian lilt.

This time the call was clearer, but it’s the same old routine with scammers pretending they’re from Microsoft, insisting that my computer's been compromised. When I told him it was utter nonsense, he abruptly ended the call. - Caller: A con artist with a South Asian twang.

Today, I received a rather odd series of telephone calls - four in total. The first few were from a chap followed by a woman, both with accents suggestive of Asian origins. They professed to be representatives of Microsoft. The number they were calling from was 01516041893. Quite the peculiar experience!

Just like others have mentioned, what an absolute bother! Received calls at 08:00 and then again at 09:10 this morning.

Received two calls from this number earlier today. The first one came in this morning, and despite recognising the number, I thought it best to request her details in return, in typical fashion of wanting to call back. I don't reckon I’ll be doing that any time soon! Naturally, she decided to hang up on me. The second call came through just a quarter of an hour ago. My phone showed an international dialling code, though it supposedly had a Liverpool area code attached to it. Both times, they claimed to represent Microsoft. Clearly, it’s a scam. Do yourself a favour: don’t engage!

I've encountered these nuisances previously - the real issue is that my mother, who’s rather advanced in age, has suffered multiple strokes lately, which have left her quite confused. I’m genuinely concerned that she might unwittingly pick up the phone and divulge her card information, especially since she’s almost been tricked by scams not too long ago. It infuriates me that these con artists continue to operate freely; they ought to be imprisoned! As for me, I simply inform them that I don’t entertain unsolicited calls and promptly end the conversation.

I received a call from an Indian gentleman, purportedly representing Microsoft - what a complete ruse! I gave him a bit of cheek, and, rather surprisingly, he told me to f*** off before slamming the phone down. Honestly, this kind of behaviour needs to be addressed; I shudder to think if my 9-year-old had been on the line when he let loose with his foul language. It's high time we put an end to these scams!

Some guy with a thick Asian accent claimed to be from Microsoft and said he was in Reading, but the number calling me was from Liverpool, definitely a scam.

I got a phone call from a chap who sounded like he was from India. He claimed to be calling from Microsoft and mentioned an issue with my computer. He kept probing, wanting to know if I was indeed the owner of the device. I wasn't having any of it, though, and demanded that he disclose who had reported this so-called fault. He didn't hang about for long after that and ended the call quite abruptly.

Some girl called Jessica from Microsoft or something. The accent was obviously Indian which was odd. She just ended the call straightaway.

I've just received a call from the same sort of individual mentioned in other reviews-a foreign lady claiming to be from Microsoft, inquiring about my computer issues. Honestly, what's the point of filing a report? I highly doubt anything will come of it!

Received a call from this number earlier today, 28th September 2015. I didn't recognise it as anyone I know - no family or mates, so I chose not to pick up. I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but it doesn’t seem to be making a difference.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft. Said there was a hacking issue with the computer and asked to talk to the main owner. I thanked him and told him we'd handle it, then ended the call.

Echoing the sentiments of those who've commented before, I’m also registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). This number claims to originate from Liverpool, yet I’m left pondering whether these fraudsters have found a means to disguise their origin and appear as if they're calling from within the UK. Or perhaps there's a connection to India at play? It’s quite baffling!

Got a call from 01516041893, some Asian lady claiming there’s issues with my Microsoft - she just hung up right after. I usually get these sorts of calls from weird numbers, but is this some sort of new trick where they're using UK numbers but calling from Delhi or somewhere? Definitely fishy.

I had the dubious pleasure of receiving a call from the same lowlife on 19th September 2015, but there was absolute silence when I picked up. The Telephone Preference Service is a complete waste of time. Honestly, the best way to handle these bothersome callers is to uncover their address and confront them in person for a good old-fashioned talking-to. Just the suggestion of a visit often does the trick!
