Got a call on Monday from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying my computer was acting up because of some suspicious activity. I got a call on my landline from a woman who sounded Asian, saying she was calling from Microsoft because my computer had been compromised. She wanted me to follow some steps with her. I told her I was a bit under the weather and needed a break for a drink. Being ex-IT, I could tell straight away it was a scam. She's called a couple more times, but I've ignored them. It's odd they're using a UK number now. Surely BT should be able to find out who owns that number.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent pretending to be from Microsoft. As someone who used to be a Microsoft certified engineer, it was obvious straight away it was a scam. Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said he was ringing from Microsoft. He told me my PC was sending out error alerts and that hackers had supposedly taken control without me knowing. He asked if he could remotely access my computer to show me what was wrong. When I asked him simple questions about the call, he couldn’t give straight answers and then just hung up. Seems like a classic scam - don’t let anyone like that get anywhere near your device or click any links they give you.

Got a call from a lady with a thick Asian accent saying she was from Microsoft and claimed she knew my computer ID. So I asked her if she could tell me what kind of computer I had, and she just said it was "a Windows system" :D I told her that both me and my partner work in IT and asked for more info about her company. I just got a call too, sounded exactly like the others have said - a woman with an accent, claiming to be from Microsoft asking about my PC. Asked me to send a report or something, but honestly, what’s the point? Nothing will actually happen!

Got a call from this number earlier today, 28th Sept 2015. Didn’t have a clue who it was, wasn’t from anyone I know, so I just let it ring out. Even though I’m registered with the TPS, it still rings! Quite annoying.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from Microsoft about my PC. I'm not sure if it was legit or just a scam. The caller said they were from Microsoft, but it sounded dodgy. Has anyone else had this?

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft. Said there was a hacking issue with the computer and asked to talk to the main owner. I thanked him and told him we'd handle it, then ended the call.

25/09/15. Got two calls from this number. A guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. Pretty creepy as he knew my full name. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from a guy called Michael, sounded Indian, claiming he was from Microsoft. Told him straight away he wasn’t from Microsoft and then ended the call. Took less than 10 seconds. Total scammers these lot.

My lad was waiting for a call about his car fix from a Merseyside number, so my missus picked up. Some bloke with an Asian accent said he was from Microsoft about our PC! Complete nonsense if you ask me.

Like others have said before, I’m registered with the TPS and I keep getting calls from this number that’s meant to be based in Liverpool. Makes me wonder if these fraudsters have found a way to make it look like they’re calling from the UK or if it’s actually connected to India somehow. Very suspicious!

Got a call from 01516041893, some Asian lady claiming there’s issues with my Microsoft - she just hung up right after. I usually get these sorts of calls from weird numbers, but is this some sort of new trick where they're using UK numbers but calling from Delhi or somewhere? Definitely fishy.

That dodgy bloke rang me on 19/09/2015, but when I picked up, there was no sound at all. The TPS does absolutely nothing to stop these pests. Honestly, the best way to handle these calls is to track down their address and pay ’em a visit for a proper telling-off. Most times, just threatening that’s enough to make ’em back off!
